Foreo LUNA or Clarisonic?

It never fails, when I start talking beauty with people, I inevitable mention both my LUNA and my Clarisonic. People start to get really interested when I tell them they both are mini-facial machines. Like Kait, why the heck do you need two of these things? Aren’t they the same?

Well, to me, they’re totally different! For any fellow beauty mavens, I wanted to taken some time to break them both down.

Β Let’s start with the LUNA, shall we? The LUNA facial cleansing and anti-aging device channels T-Sonic pulsations for gentle exfoliation that’s designed for everyday use while also incorporating anti-aging technology into its design. But what about that anti-aging thing? A special side on the LUNA directs lower-frequency pulsations that, when applied to wrinkle prone areas (think forehead and smile lines) reduces the visibility fines lines. This also helps the skin to firm up! So basically, one side for cleansing, one side for making sure to stay looking young and fresh.

What I Love:
The silicone body gently (there is nothing bristly about it) exfoliates dead skin and unclog my pores like I’ve never seen. I also really love how easy it is to keep clean (no removing brush heads to reveal icky dirt) and how long it keeps a charge! It also comes with a 10-year quality guarantee — holy heck! That’s practically unheard of in the beauty world.
What I Don’t Love:
There’s a lot of hype around the anti-aging portion of this device and I think it’s GREAT. But I also think that using a high-quality product in conjunction with it is the fine print here. Foreo kind of skips over that part and highlights all the amazing anti-aging techniques. To me, it’s kind of like going to the gym and then eating cake. You won’t get the results you want without both.
Now let’s talk about about a beauty classic, the Clarisonic.

I’ve had one of these bad boys in my arsenal since I can remember. The Clarisonic is a two-speed sonic facial cleansing brush that promises smooth, radiant skin. Rechargeable, waterproof (duh) and made in the USA, this product comes in multiple styles, shapes and sizes to fit the needs of your skin.
What I Love:
The Clarisonic comes in two speeds – delicate and universal – so you can truly customize it to fit your current needs, which is great for people like me who have combination dry/oily skin. I also love that I feel like I get a deep cleanse every single time I use it. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just really want to dig deep into my pores and wash out all the nasty crap. If you’re like me, then this is the beauty tool for you.
What I Don’t Love:
I’ll be honest – the brush head gets nasty and so does the area underneath it. In fact, I’ve become accustomed to washing my face and then immediately re-washing the brush, removing the brush head and rinsing out everything underneath.
For me, the combination of these products is key. Do I use them both every day? Heck no! I save my Clarisonic for days when I’ve worn makeup and I really want to get my face clean. I turn to my LUNA for days when I haven’t worn makeup and am looking for a simple cleanse. Despite the cons I mentioned, I would 100% buy them both again in a heartbeat!
What are your beauty staples? Are there any skin products that are an absolute MUST for you?
P.S. I feel like I should let everyone know that neither Foreo nor Clarisonic have any idea who I am and did not sponsor this or sway my opinion in any way. That being said, if either brand is reading — HI HELLO, I LOVE YOU!
