Our weekend was my very favorite kind – filled to the brim with lots of relaxing that we are enjoying right through today since it’s Columbus Day! We’ve been waking up early, getting in a workout, watching football, taking the dogs swimming, a little bit of boating, some sunshine, some rain and a whole ‘lotta family time. It’s been so, so nice to not really have plans after being go-go-go for awhile. Sadly, it all comes crashing down tomorrow as we hop on a plane for our next adventure – some mainland time! WOO WOO! Be sure to follow along over on Instagram for a play-by-play that is sure to include a hell of a lot of good eating for the next four weeks 😉
I had water on my lens for this one, but I love Bill’s little paw thinking about escaping right off the side!
We take the pups swimming all the time, but this was their first time on a boat and having free roam of a huge area of water with no waves. Needless to say, they’ve been asking to go back ever since the boat docked 😉
I also made my version of What’s Gaby Cookin’s Chicken Tortilla Soup and it did not disappoint! It was slightly rainy both Saturday and Sunday, so it was a good “fall in Hawaii” kind of meal. I sub in sweet potatoes instead of chicken and skip the cilantro on top. Mmm! So tasty! The only photo I snapped is one for Instagram stories, but it’s a fan favorite around here. Dane and I both love how much flavor it has and we are, admittedly, not huge fans of soup, particularly not here in the islands so…you know it’s good!
And if you’re in the shopping mood – there are some awesome sales going on right now! Here are my faves:
Anthropologie: Extra 40% sale
Old Navy: Big Fall Sale! Up to 50% entire store
My pick for the J.Crew sale is the amazing bathing suit I’m wearing above. I know it might be chillier where you are, but now is the time to be stocking up on summer swim. The scallops are a classic and each piece is marked down from $68 to less than $20 per piece! Plus 30% off….GULP! Scoop up your favorite colors while they last.
How was your weekend? Is it true fall temps where you are?
