I know this title might make some of you stop what you’re doing to read…because immediately, people being nice is not what comes to mind. It’s a little bit sad that our society is one where–when someone does something nice for you, it’s remembered. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? When someone does something ugly, or mean–we remember that and it sticks out, because the majority of the time people are too busy being nice?
Sadly, that’s not how it works.
I’m here today to tell you that there IS hope.
On Monday I posted about a good friend of mine who lost her puppy in a freak accident over the weekend. I was ABSOLUTELY KNOCKED ON MY BUTT by the overwhelming love and support sent (both via comments and other social media!) to my friend. Megan was blown away and I was so proud to call you all my friends.
Not only that…I have recently been getting the NICEST comments on my Instagram photos…particularly from people I’ve met in the blogging community. You guys, I’m flattered! To say that you make my day is an understatement. Taking time out of your day to stop and say my dog is cute, my boyfriend and I look adorable together, or that you’re thinking of me…well, I just think that’s the bees knees. You can join the party here.
Just two of the photos that got lots of love..but there are so many more. You guys…Your kindness is contagious. |
Today, I challenge each of you to do something nice for an unsuspecting for no other reason than because there’s good in all of us. Pay it forward. Be the change you wish to see in the world.
