December 1st I’m starting a movement. A movement to get RACKed.
A Random Act of Christmas Kindness, that is.
I grew up in a house where I was taught how important it is to pay it
forward. To lend a helping hand. Not just at Christmas time, but
throughout the year. I think sometimes we get so caught up in our own
busy schedules we don’t take enough time to stop, slow down, and think
about others. I’ll admit, I’m as guilty as the next person.
This Christmas I’m changing that. In honor of the special people in my
life who have taught me the true meaning of the season, I’m trying to
RACK some truly unsuspecting people.
What qualifies as a RACK?
Leaving a quarter on gumball machine, a candy cane on a dashboard,
paying for someone’s groceries, bringing a favorite teacher breakfast,
leaving a little extra tip money, carrying bags to someone’s car after
shopping, grabbing an extra coffee in line at the coffee shop and giving
to the person behind you…the opportunities are endless. It’s really
up to you how creative you can be! The best part is that it doesn’t have
to be something extraordinary, just something that already fits into
your schedule.
How does someone know they’re being RACKed?
Good question. Because I’m really hoping to spread this idea as far as I
can get it, I want to include the same unified note with every RACK.
In the end, I want to compile all of the RACKs and present them to a
couple people in my life who I know would be really excited to see
people banding together to bring smiles to others this holiday season.
This is where you all come in. I need some helpers, and I know I can’t do this alone. I’m asking for anyone interested and truly willing to participate to contact me. I will mail you 5 RACK cards and ask that you distribute them between December 1 and December 31st.
**I know the title is Christmas Kindness, but please do not
hesitate if you are of a differing faith–ALL ARE WELCOME! I only chose
Christmas, because that is the holiday I celebrate.**
So, who’s ready to get RACKed this year?
