A couple weeks ago I did a review on Boscia’s Black Mask and all but gave up my first born child in order to have endless quantities of it shipped to my house. What can I say? I like when a product works, especially when I’ve forked over some considerable dough for it.
Next up, I had GLAMGLOW to try. It came highly recommended from US Weekly and Twitter was aflurry with celebrities who raved about it. I knew it was a must try the next time I need a little something to brighten and boost my complexion.
I knew I was already hooked on the black mask, so I knew GlamGlow really had to knock it out of the park to get me excited. When CNN announced the passengers of the Carnival Triumph would finally be disembarking, I knew I had a long night of following the story via social media and could stay awake long enough to test it out.
The instructions tell you to apply the mask to a freshly washed face. I used my normal Korres White Tea Cleanser with my Clarisonic and patted my face dry with a towel. I then applied a thin to medium coating on my face, avoiding direct contact with my eyes.
Disclaimer: I personally find it hysterical that companies have to put things on labels like “Avoid eyes.” and “Don’t put in your mouth.” Because I’d LOVE to meet the person that thinks their pupils need a little exfoliating and/or want a radiant tongue.
And do you see all those little black dots? Yes, friends, that is DIRT. Gross, right? Especially considering the Clarisonic touts “cleansing pores of dirt” Um…
It should also be known that I am extremely self-conscious of the size of my pores and so posting a photo of my face THIS.CLOSE is likely to send me over the edge, but anything for you fine people and the sake of a good review.
When the mask first goes on, it feels like an icy tingling sensation, followed by a little warmth. I personally enjoyed this, because it gave me the sense that the mask was working. As the mask dries, it tightens and you can begin to see the dirt coming out. After 20 minutes, rinse the mask off with warm water.
Final thoughts: I loved that this mask tingles while it’s on and shows you the dirt that’s coming out. Hey, it appeals to my sense of immediate satisfaction. I felt like my skin glowed a little bit more once it was rinsed off.
One thing I noticed about this is that while it showed the dirt it was removing, it didn’t seem to remove ALL of the dirt. I had a few noticeable black-heads after I rinsed, which kind of annoyed me because this mask does have a higher price point than the black mask. Picky, I know, but for the sake of a thorough review I thought you should know.
Bottom line? I’d definitely use it again!
