Oh how I have missed you! When Kait is away I can’t take over her blog and post all my thoughts and talk to all my blog friends. At least I like to think you are all my friends. I think everyone is my friend. It’s a dog thing.
I may not be a smart Dog … but I know what Love is …
There is a saying in our house “You’re the dog!” and usually it is sung in an upbeat fashion likened to an Oscar Hammerstein show tune. Yes, I am the Dog … (**crazy dog lady family**)
I know that I am not the brightest of dogs, but I make up for my lack of brains with excessive cutenes and dress-up-ability. Ever since I can remember, I have been dressed up or wearing a bandanna of some kind.
Given that I lack thumbs, and the dexterity required for typing, my “voice” is interpreted
by my people. They started writing down my thoughts in emails from me (I can be reached at
MadelineSawyerCalhoun@gmail.com) to Kait at college. E-mails from me always brightened her day, at least I like to think so.
I still email Kait sometimes. I even sent her a picture of me dressed in Hawaiian attire while
she was seeing Mr. Dane. Mr. Dane is Great you know (a little dog humor).
Like I said before, I am a dog of little brain; but I do know what love is. I have it for my people, and
special love for “Cookies” and “Walks” and “Ice-cream” and “going for a ride”. These are some of the words I do understand. I also love our UPS delivery man Chad, he leaves cookies for me and sometimes boxes, but I have no use for those. I also love green beans. Did you know
that they are delicious and nutritious and have helped me lose weight?
Kait says they are gluten free …but I don’t know what that is.
I do like to play ball and when I was younger I used to play soccer.
Love for me is simple, it is no matter what … I love my people no matter what. I’m not sure if you knew this, but I am pretty old. I turned 12 in January … and that’s like 72 people years.
I know I won’t be around forever … but I know I have love and I am loved.
Love, Maddie
P.S. I can do “high fives” with my paws … (which is kinda weird cause I
only have four pads) So High Fives (Fours) to Kait’s blogasphere.
