Come on ya’ll…

LET’S GOOO!!!

<spoken in my best Shaun T. voice, of course> And if you have never done Insanity, you must think I’m probably, well, insane.

If you remember, a few weeks ago I blogged about my love/hate with this cardio intensive workout plan. My biggest problem with any workout regimen is that I get bored so easily that if I don’t begin feeling or seeing results, I stop doing it. I know, results take time, but I have 0 patience. I also get discouraged when I see the instructors breezing through the exercises, never panting like a dog (like me). Needless to say, I was a little bit worried about how I would stay motivated to do Insanity. Thankfully, I have one of the very best workout partners around.

Okay, so maybe I’m a little biased.

In any case, I am here today to SING THE PRAISES OF THIS BEHIND KICKING WORKOUT. I’m definitely one of those people that needs to have their butt kicked when working out, otherwise I’ll find ways to cheat and skimp on the exercises. It’s virtually impossible to cheat on Insanity. Plus, Shaun (and his cast of workout buddies) are all visibly smoked by the time the tape is done.

Let me just preface this by saying, yes, I complain 41 of the 45 minutes, but holy smokes–it works. I feel good and my clothes fit better than they have in a long time. I’m not necessarily down X number of pounds, but I feel stronger and that’s what I wanted.

For comparison purposes, here is my before and after at 3 weeks.

Please excuse the post-workout hair.

It’s a definite work in progress, but I’m all for sticking to what works! Are there any workouts that you swear by? With summer weather right around the corner, we could all use a little motivation, right?

Thanks, Shaun. I love you, too.
