Boscia Bright White is the new black

Beauty · May 30, 2013 · 6 Comments

If you’re new around here, I’m a real sucker for a good skincare product. I blogged before about Hard Night, Good Morning and GLAMGLOW –two of my favorites. Then I blogged here about Boscia’s black mask. To say I’m obsessed with all of these is a bit of an understatement. Frequent use leaves my skin feeling like butta. Yes, butta. Said like Paula Deen.

Needless to say, when I walk into Sephora and see new products, my wallet doesn’t stand a chance.

Today, I bring to you, Boscia’s Bright White Mask. Just the title alone kind of gets me going. I really like bright white everything…mostly teeth. I was a little apprehensive about this at first because, as the woman at Sephora explained to me, “it’s just like the Black Mask except White.”

Oh, hmmm..that seems really weird that the folks at Boscia would waste so much money on packaging if the results are the same. Interesting. Thanks lady.

I took it upon myself to read the back on the box. Her comments did not deter me (clearly), because before I knew it I was exiting the store with it in tow. Touted to brighten, hydrate and smooth the look of skin–I was all in.

No preservatives, artificial coloring, or tested on animals. I love you Boscia–mostly because I picture some companies smearing facial masks on dogs and ripping them off. ::shudder::

Not formulated with parabens, sulfates, or phthalates makes me pretty happy, too.

I wasted no time once I got home. Per the instructions, I started with a clean, makeup-free face, and coated a smooth layer on my face–trying my best to avoid my eye areas.

Very sexy, I know

It took a little bit longer than I wanted to dry, but I used my time wisely and removed my nail polish. It was pretty win-win. The next step was exactly like the black mask–you peel it right off your face like a glorified Biore strip.
I found it necessary to document this for all of you. Note to self: next time, I need to use a thicker layer. Yes, your skin will be a little bit red post-pulling, but you’re essentially pulling at very sensitive skin–it’s going to look a little aggravated.
Once all of the white mask (or masque, if you’re fancy) is pulled off, wash your face and use your normal routine. This is the part where I noticed the most difference. My skin looked glow-y immediately. That box is not lying when it says you’re going to get bright skin.
Final thoughts: I really love this white mask. Like I said, I was a little skeptical. I had fallen hard for their black mask and wasn’t sure if this one would measure up. Now I know not to doubt Boscia’s formulas. When I was pulling off the mask, I didn’t notice dirt being pulled out like I did with the black–which is fine by me. I would recommend using the white mask before you’re going to an event where you want to look absolutely radiant. No, I’m not kidding. Use the black mask when you’re looking to refresh your face and pull out some caked-in dirt from your pores. All in all, I will definitely be incorporating this into my weekly routine.
What are your summer beauty must-haves?
