Exciting News!

I’m sure most of you saw this on Instagram on Wednesday and have been wondering, when the heck is she going to announce their exciting news?

Today’s the day!

Dane and I are so incredibly excited to announce that we have a new wedding date. An official, good-as-new date. And the best part? It’s still in 2014! We are so incredibly excited about this, because we initially believed it wouldn’t be until 2015 and we’d be working with a 2 year engagement. Not that there’s anything at all wrong with that, it’s just a long time!

Some of you had some really good guesses (and one really terrifying one).

Are we getting a puppy?
Eventually, just not quite yet.
Are we getting a new house?
Yes. But it will more or less be us signing some papers and me redecorating like a mad woman.
Did we elope?
Never. Having our family and friends present when we tie the knot is extremely important to both of us.
Are we having a baby?
No. We don’t even have a dog yet, people. Plus, we still really like the idea of giving kids back to their parents at the end of the day.

So what now? We’re keeping the date to ourselves for the time being for a couple reasons, but namely because releasing that information could potentially tip off deployment time frames. For your safety, my safety and Dane’s safety, trust me when I say it’s sooner in 2014 than you’d think. And hey! If you wind up getting a save-the-date in the mail, consider yourself “in the know” 😉
