Summer Lovin’

If you know me, when I find a product I love, I use it to death and
I’ll talk your ear off about it. Not kidding. I find it only fair I
share with you all my most recent favorite things–minus the talking
your ear off part 🙂

1. You might remember when I
visited my good friend in NYC and hung out in the beauty closet of
Seventeen magazine. On this trip, I got HOOKED UP with some beauty
essentials. Two of my favorites are Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Styling Cream and  Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes! Statement Mascara. 

First up–NYM Beach Babe Styling Cream. My mane is naturally curly and knotty
wavy. When I DO choose to wear it this way, I don’t want that wet hair
crunchy curls look. I know you know what I’m talking about. This is the
first styling cream I’ve found that tames my unruly hair AND doesn’t
make it look wet and/or crunchy. I am loving it!

Tarte
Mascara–I’m a mascara snob and I don’t care who knows it. When I was
little I used to think ripping my eyelashes out was some sort of game.
Weird, I know, but it means I’m working with very little and any sort of
lash extension is not in the cards right now. Lights, Camera, Flashes!
brings my eyelashes to life and <gasp> I don’t even have to use my
curler.

2. C. Wonder–do
you all shop here? I just discovered it earlier this year and to say
I’m obsessed is a bit of an understatement. As in, I want every single
solitary item in that store that isn’t pinned down. For now, I’m
settling for online window shopping (gosh I love being on a budget), but
I’d love just about everything from their Home Decor section. I’ll gladly send any of you my shipping address 😉

4.
Life. Sometimes I feel myself slipping into the “Things Mentality”. As
in, material goods are what makes me happy. While they certainly do
provide joy in certain aspects of my life and I’ll never say no to a
good shopping trip, my other most recent favorite things are moments.

a. Catching the sunrise every morning before anyone is awake
b. Challenging myself to try new recipes I’ve never made before
c. Relaxing after work with Dane and watching our favorite shows
d.
Enjoying the small romantic gestures–like when Dane separates the
laundry or brings me breakfast in bed. One tiny gesture that goes so
incredibly far.
