What a weekend!

Beauty · June 24, 2013 · 12 Comments

First of all, thank you so much for all the love from Friday’s post! We are both over-the-moon excited and happy!

Our weekend started, technically, on Thursday night when we attended Barter Bar Hawaii. Barter Bar is, essentially, a no money, trading event located in Honolulu where residents can come and “barter” items and services. Oh, and there’s an open bar. This sort of forward-thinking, creative event was right up my alley and Dane and I had so much fun meeting some really cool people. We are definitely going back next month 🙂

Friday we met some friends for drinks at one of our favorite local bars. I love a good chance to dress up and was so excited to wear my new necklace from Sarah!
Saturday we woke up early and went out to breakfast before meeting a group of friends to tour the Byodo-In Temple. We thought breakfast was AMAZING and were so excited to tour the temple and grounds with our friends. Unfortunately, that breakfast wasn’t as good as we initially thought and Dane winded up getting really sick. We managed to get this picture before making a mad dash home.

The rest of Saturday was spent being lazy around the house. Poor Dane felt so lousy. Everything else we had planned for Saturday got pushed into Sunday making it one of the most active and productive days I think we’ve had in a really long time. We cleaned our entire house top to bottom (including the garage!), finished a few projects around the house, snorkeled, spent some down time at the pool, washed the car, went to the grocery store, and capped off the day with an episode of Pretty Little Liars. Whew! I’m tired again just thinking about it.

More photos where this came from later this week, I promise!
One of our house projects finally came together and I’m so impressed with how it turned out that I just HAD to share. I got the print from my friend Bonnie’s delightful shop– B is for Bonnie. It fits our relationship so well that I knew I had to incorporate it into our home. I fell in love as soon as I opened the package at my mailbox. Yes, I open packages at my mailbox, because I’m too excited to take the additional 6 steps back to my front door and properly open it. Dane loved the print just as much as I did and he immediately had some ideas for it.
Ladies, he knocked it out of the ballpark. I love the gold font and how the gold clothespins bring the entire wall together. And using our engagement photos? He’s the best.
How was your weekend?
