My weekend consisted of so many different activities, I find it only fair that I allow myself to document them in bullet-point fashion. Isn’t that how every amazing weekend is recapped? Even if it’s not, just shake your head. It’s Monday, okay?1. You may or may not remember me blogging about Barter Bar before, but we attended again on Thursday night. For those of you new to the party (hello!), Barter Bar is a no money, “goods for goods” event that allows like-minded, creative souls to meet and mingle. And hello! Open. Bar. Yes, that is something I like, too. It’s $2 at the door and let’s be honest–you can’t even buy 1 drink at a bar for $4, let alone meet & mingle.
Dane and I like to go just for the sole purpose of getting out and meeting new people. This month’s theme was so different from last month’s and we enjoyed fresh curry, homemade juices, tea from Indonesia & an exciting new beauty product that’s debuting later this week!
You can learn more here, and if you’re on O’ahu–you should definitely check it out! August’s theme is Food & Restaurants. Um, hello! This girl is going to be waiting at the door.
There were baby ducks there this week, so you know I cuddled them for as
long as I could before the farmer’s who brought them thought I was
legitimately crazy. I even begged Dane to bring one home. I think I was
pretty close to convincing him before the farmer told him those ducks
would shit all over our house.

2. We spent a lot of time at the beach this weekend. Spending time together on one of our favorite beaches absolutely never gets old. I think salt water and sand runs through our veins. Lucky we live Hawaii, for sure.
3. Hiking really isn’t my thing, but once a month I indulge Dane and become one with nature while grunting up the side of a Hawaiian mountain. This month? We conquered the Lanikai Pillboxes Hike. Let me just tell you, that hike is no less than 75 degrees straight up, so I felt pretty freaking accomplished at the top.
4. Dogs. Dogs. And more dogs. We still haven’t found the perfect addition to our family, but we’ve been looking HARD. I suppose it’s just like anything else in life–as soon as we stop looking, the perfect Great Dane will waltz into our lives. Because I mean, who wouldn’t want a miniature pony living in their home? In the meantime, we’ve enjoyed playing with every rescue this side of California.
5. Eating. We do a lot of it. We found ourselves on the east side this weekend and checked out the Kailua Brunch Fest. It was Kailua’s first-ever outdoor brunch experience and shoot, I don’t ever want to miss the first of something–especially when it includes food trucks, brunch and being outside! I’m fairly certain we ate one of everything there, which was fine by me because I had just hauled myself up the side of a cliff. Macaroni and cheese omelette, Kalua Pork & Taro Croquette, Lemongrass Pineapple Iced Tea & Red Velvet Pancakes. GET IN MY BELLY!
All in all, animals, the beach & my boo. What could be better?
