A Royal Affair: My Royal-Themed Bridal Shower

Beauty · November 12, 2013 · 22 Comments

Saturday my soon-to-be mother-in-law hosted a bridal luncheon for me and some of her closest friends that are unable to make it to the wedding next summer. Yes, it is awfully early to be having these sort of fun get-togethers, but with me going back to Hawaii soon and not coming back to PA again until RIGHT BEFORE the big day, adjustments must be made 🙂 And honestly–it’s never too soon to celebrate! The party was a royal affair–hats included!

Shameless car selfie. Hey! I had to get some to send to Dane. Yeah, we’ll go with that… 😉

I have to admit, I was a little bit nervous about my hat. If you’ve been around these parts for any length of time, you KNOW I am particular about my hair. I was ECSTATIC when I found Pippa & Pearl on Etsy. Suzanne makes, without a doubt, the most beautiful headpieces I have ever laid my eyes on. When I saw this fascinator design, I knew it was what I wanted. I love how vibrant the blue looks against my white dress and, because the design on my head was so intricate, no jewels were needed! Except, of course, my engagement ring 🙂

My momma!

My mother-in-law, Andrea

She even included a postcard station so all the guests could write a note to Dane to send over to Afghanistan! How sweet?!?!

I think my mother-in-law pulled everything together wonderfully and I loved all the little details that made the afternoon so special. Coconut Chicken,Cocktails & Creme Brulee…Oh my!

I’ll let the pictures do the talking…

Our menu for the afternoon. I LOVE Jess’ Favorite Salad–one of my Central PA favorites!

These are the most adorable favors! They were all hand cut and assembled to hold packets of tea. I loved it!

A very special gluten free treat 🙂

And I just realized how terribly out of order these are–along with only having photos with a handful of people. This special day only reminded me of how grateful I am to be surrounded by so much love. Not only do I get to marry the man of my dreams, I get more family to love, too!

Cheers!
