I’m back! Back from leg 6 of #KaitsWorldTour, that is.
You know, traveling really has a way of making you appreciate all the little things in life. For instance, yesterday when I stopped for gas right outside Fayetteville, NC, I looked to my right and saw a cop guzzling coffee while the gentleman locked in his backseat looking angrily out the window. In was in that exact minute that I was appreciative for being smart enough to not do something that would allow me to be locked up in that back seat…
…but seriously, I didn’t know cops were allowed to stop for snacks while they had people in the back.
I had the most incredible week with my grandparents in NC. We laughed, we ate and we shopped–kind of all of the very best things in life rolled into one. It’s trips like these that make me wish I lived closer and could see them more often. They are in the process of remodeling one of their homes in the Outer Banks and it happens to be the one where I spent my summers with them as a child. 75 years strong and they’re still knocking down walls. God bless ’em.
Aren’t they so cute? Thanks Gram & PopPop for a wonderful week; I miss you guys! And yes, friends, they read here 🙂 They also text, cruise Facebook, tweet & get pissed when they lose in Words With Friends.
In North Carolina you can also find this. I’ll leave you to your own thought processes just in case someone out there reading eats these.
And if you do, do they taste just like Mama’s? And does your Mama make these?
As I made my way back up the East Coast, I couldn’t help but think a little bit of the following…
“Shit, have I only been driving for an hour?”
“I wonder how fast police officers give you when the speed limit is 70..?”
“That cop is stopped for coffee…and there’s a thug in his backseat.” Heh..
“Aw, those people have a Christmas tree strapped to the top of their car!”
“Crap I have to pee. Not happening. I can still go 87 miles until my tank is empty. Hold it woman.”
“88 ounces of Diet Coke is a lot in one day. I hope my heart doesn’t stop.”
“I need to count my Christmas cards when I get home to see how many stamps I need to buy.”
And the real money maker of this blog post…
“I wonder if people will still read my blog if I post all this random shit I think or if they’ll write me off as crazy..”
Guess there’s only one way to find out. Happy Monday & one month until Christmas kids!
