It’s Thursday and I think it’s safe to say I’m still recovering from what can only be described as the biggest meal of the year. Perhaps that’s because I’m still eating leftovers over here–one full week later–which is really important to mention, because otherwise you all might thing I ate my body weight in turkey.
I will come right out and say that Thanksgiving is not my favorite holiday. It definitely ranks higher than Halloween and Valentine’s Day (gag), but certainly not above Christmas or Fourth of July. I mean COME ON! I can get on board with a day of being thankful, but a day of eating–I just cannot. My family and I spent a wonderful day watching football (HELL YEAH LIONS WON!) and, well, eating.
But because we clearly didn’t have enough bird on Thursday, we smoked one again on Saturday. This is Pennsylvania, folks. We like meat and we like it a lot. HI! WELCOME!
THANKFULLY (heh, pun intended) we’ve moved past all of that and people will
finally stop looking at me funny when I drive down the road blasting my
Christmas songs. We Black Friday shopped until our little hearts were content and the rest of the weekend was spent Christmas-a-fying the humble abode. Clark Griswalt would be proud.
In the midst of all of this, I crafted invitations for our annual gingerbread house decorating competition and I must say–I kind of love them! What do you think? Is a tutorial in order?
Happy Thursday, everyone! 20 days until Christmas 🙂
