The worst thing that has happened to me so far today was my alarm going off this morning. Last Monday kicked off with Judy taking a giant dump on my couch, so I’d say we are already off to a better start already.
I have high hopes for this week, mostly because this weekend Dane has off for 3 days in a row and weekends where we lazily sleep in, go to the beach and parade our dog around town are some of my favorites.
Take this weekend, for example. Saturday we woke up at 7 (sleeping in for us!), went to the gym, got ready and attended a spring celebration with Dane’s soldiers. Judy had the time of her life, can you tell?
Typically we aren’t ones for family events, because we don’t have kids, so we brought Judy and she was a fantastic stand-in. |
Sunday was spent at the gym & pool, HOWEVER! We may or may not have had the most incredible lunch ever. I’ve blogged before about Dane’s love of getting crafty in the kitchen after he’s seen something that we cannot continue to survive without. This was one of those times.
Men’s Health recently featured an article on jacked up PBJ’s and we were SO IN. PBJs speak to both of us, mostly because we recently found gluten free sunflower seed bread that is nothing short of heaven in a bakery bag. Anyhow, Dane got to work in the kitchen and I prepped to be wow-ed.
WOW-ed I was.
Sandwich 1:
Marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, crushed peanuts, honey & crumbled maple bacon—> all warmed up like a grilled cheese. HOLY SMOKES, so good!
Sandwich 2:
Peanut butter, sauteed cinnamon apples, chunk of sharp cheddar cheese —> all warmed up like a grilled cheese. Again, SO GOOD.
The moral of the story here is that this weekend had 2 highlights: sleeping in and eating. Oh, and binge watching Revenge. We just started and are still on season one, so no spoilers please, but damn Emily Thorne you are a bad B.
Happy Monday, friends!
