half birthdays are meant for celebrating & hawaii five-o

Life, Lifestyle · July 14, 2014 · 4 Comments

Am I the only person on the planet who celebrates half birthdays? maybe, maybe not. When Dane and I first started dating, he thought it was the most obnoxious thing in the world…until we started celebrating his half birthday. look, life is too short not to have fun, okay? Okay.

Well, Saturday just so happened to be my half birthday and let me just tell you…Dane did not disappoint. For starters, he woke me up and surprised me with two throw pillows I’ve been swooning over at this over-priced tourist shop near our house. To say that I love them is a huge understatement.

He also gave me two print to match our vintage surf print trio from Everything Is Jake, a coffee cup from my favorite burrito shop on the North Shore & a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Ladies, I am sorry–he is off the market.

And if you can believe it, the fun didn’t stop there. Our first stop of the day was a wine tasting and making party.

A party for two, that is. We hit up the AMAZING Oeno where we sampled 10 wines and then chose which wine we would like to make. We chose Chianti! In September we get to go back and bottle it with custom labels we designed.

To say we are excited is an understatement. I guess cat’s outta the bag on what we’re giving as Christmas presents. In any case, for any of my Hawaii friends reading, Oeno is a MUST-DO. The owners are amazing–gracious and informative. We were not the only couple there, but it sure felt like it.

The rest of the weekend was spent catching up with work around the house, running errands and preparing for the week ahead…which may or may not include me heading to the set of Hawaii Five-0 😉

Happy Week, everyone!
