How is it that no matter how many days I have off on the weekend, the beginning of the work week is still the most dreaded day. Tuesday is the new Monday, friends.
1. Does anyone else agree that the laziest weekends are sometimes the best? Dane and I soaked up some time together lounging around and watching television, trying out new recipes and playing with Judy. Saturday we discovered a new beach point and spent the afternoon watching the waves taunt the shore–ahh, relaxation.
2. Friday we went to see American Sniper in IMAX. The movie was great, but the book was even better. I highly recommend the book if you have the chance!
I don’t really want to get into the nitty-gritty on here, but the recent news articles floating around disgracing our military makes me so angry. What’s worse are people who say that the movie glorifies Chris Kyle and the acts of war. You’re absolutely right. It glorifies Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in American history. When you hold a title that insurmountable, let’s talk. It also brings to light the real and true effects of PTSD on soldiers and their families, something that is not talked about nearly enough. I could go on and on here, but I think this is enough for one day.
3. I’m gushing over these pants from my newest obsession, Lululemon, that my mom got me for my birthday. Yes, overpriced workout gear. Sure. But I did my triathlon swim training and transition into biking all while wearing these pants and they dried in 9 minutes flat without me wondering if I was sitting in a puddle of wet clothes. I highly recommend them!
4. Haribo Sour Gold Bears. You’re welcome.
And that’s all I’ve got for you today. How was your weekend? How are you feeling today?
