Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve heard about the shitshow that was Lilly at Target this past weekend. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been counting down to this launch for months now. I was so eagerly anticipating the online debut, I made sure we were free and clear of plans Saturday evening. Note to self: Hawaii’s time change FINALLY worked in my favor!
If you have watched the news at all, you know what followed. A leaked mobile launch. A website crash. A website re-launch. A mobile app crash. A stalled website. Check-out issues.
I imagine Target’s e-commerce team looked a little like this…
…and that’s before the stores even opened! Thankfully I was able to checkout with some of my favorite dresses as soon as the “official” launch happened at 4am EST!
I also snagged these pants, but I haven’t received shipment confirmation yet, which makes me slightly nervous!
And because I’m half crazy dedicated, I also lined up at the store Sunday morning. I was able to get these items:
And sadly, I wish this was all of it.
I also snagged some lipsticks…
A swing dress…
And two beach towels. However, the beach towels have been returned, because I just could not justify $30 towels. And yes, returned. As in–to the store. I didn’t attempt eBay, Craigslist or Instagram in an attempt to profit off this launch. I think those that are doing that are disgusting.
So tell me, did you shop in stores or online? What did you get?
