“I’m just sitting out here watching airplanes…”
No really, I am. One of the coolest parts about Hawaii is being able to lay on the Air Force base beach nearby and watch the planes take off and land. Honolulu International Airport shares runway with the Air Force (cool, huh?), so you can see a solid mix of military planes and commercial jets. I’ve got to say, those commercial beasts make a lot of noise, but I always wave, because how cool is it to be coming into Hawaii and see locals waving? Very cool.
Okay, I’ll stop rambling. Here are some cool shots I managed on our last visit. And now that I’m looking at these, some of the planes are pretty hard to see, but the water looks nice, so at least there’s that.

See that tiny speck in the sky? It’s a fighter jet! |

That blurry spec on the horizon is another fighter jet! I can assure you they are SO LOUD and cannot be missed in real life, which means you’ll have to come visit me! 😉 |
