4 Ways To Keep Mold Away

I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing I hate more than a dirty house. Sadly, you can have the cleanest house on Oahu and mold will find its way in; that’s just how it is when you live in a tropical environment! Thankfully, I’ve found simple ways to combat this sneaky nuisance and I can’t keep such good tricks to myself!

Clorox® has a portfolio of products that can help you accomplish a real
life clean. A clean you can achieve with just one hand, or just one pump
or just one product, because let’s be real–as much as we all want clean houses, we don’t have hours to spend! Use these easy, everyday tricks for keeping the mold and dirt away 🙂
Tip # 1: This may seem very obvious, but make sure your house is picked up. Don’t let dirty dishes, shoes, or anything wet laying around. It’s easy to come home from the beach and just toss clothes in the washing machine, but if you’re going to do that–you need to wash them right away! There is nothing worse than a mildew smell to make you never want to use that towel again.
The best trick I’ve found for this is: buying all white everything when it comes to linens. Sheets, towel, wash clothes, you name it–ALL WHITE! This makes it easy to use Clorox® bleach without the fear of staining anything.
Tip #2: Avoid washing wands in your kitchen sink. I know, I know. It seems like SUCH a good idea when you’re at the store. A wand that holds soap with a scrubber on it? Genius, right? BACK AWAY!
Spoiler alert: Those cleaning wands will grow mold and bacteria faster than you can snap a finger.

Instead, I turn to Clorox Pump ‘N Clean Kitchen and Dish cleaner. One pump onto a sponge of the bleach-free liquid wipes out messes
in a flash. It’s a multipurpose, multisurface cleaning solution that’s
food-safe and so easy you can do it with just one hand. I use it on dishes AND my counter top!
Does it get better?
Yes, yes it does.
Tip #3: Who here uses an electric toothbrush?
Mine has this disgusting habit of collecting water on the base of the charger, which is a mold HOTSPOT! I don’t know about you, but I don’t want that mess anywhere NEAR my toothbrush.
I keep a box of Clorox Scrub Singles in my vanity, so every morning post-brushing I can wipe the charger and still have enough leftover suds to give the sink area a good wiping. These dry pads are activated with water, so I never have to worry about them drying out, and more suds can be created by adding more water to the pad.
You can even see my sink shine in this photo–these wipes are legit!
I’m embarrassed about my fourth and final tip.
Tip #4: I have OCD when it comes to dog hair in my house. What I didn’t realize was that just using a mop, soap and hot water is usually not good enough–it just swishes the dirt around creating water marks AND MORE MESS.  I’ve started using Clorox Triple Action Dust Wipes prior to mopping my floors and they work like a dream! In fact, I’ve found I don’t have to clean as frequently, because these wipes help with general cleaning maintenance!
Do you think I’m nuts about cleaning yet?
Lucky for you, all the products I talked about are very affordable – no fancy designer prices here!
Now that I’ve shared how we keep our house clean, what is your favorite cleaning tip or trick?
