We knew before we even hit the Windy City, we wanted to do two things: gorge on pizza and check out the Rancic’s restaurant. Thankfully we hit Lou Malnati’s on day one, because day two was all about that bass RPM.
We started our day with a stroll through the Lincoln Park Zoo.
Admittedly, I don’t like zoos. Animals are not meant to be kept in cages, so it makes my animal-loving heart sad to see them like that. But, truth be told, I had to pee, the zoo was right there, the zoo was free and there was up front parking. In my mind, it was like God was willing me to stop and take a gander. And gander we did…
Lion architecture on the lion house. I didn’t take any photos of them, because I was too busy staring into their sad, lonely eyes.
And then there was this seal who had to be like…why the hell am I in Chicago and not like..the Pacific Ocean..or something?!
My family was interested in exploring more, but I had had enough. Zoos just really aren’t my thing. Plus, I was so hungry I could have eaten off my arm. Thankfully, RPM did not disappoint! Bill and Giuliana, if you’re reading, you’ve done a great job!
We capped off our time in the city by walking around a bit before heading back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding!
There was a man in front of this bridge doing magic tricks and I probably would have stayed there all day listening to him. Call me what you will, but I’m a sucker for a magic trick!
Chicago, you are insanely beautiful! If Dane and I could move to you and call you home tomorrow, we would strongly consider it. Stop back tomorrow for all the details on the beautiful wedding we attended!
