Whew! I can hardly believe the holidays are over. I mean over. over. I have to be honest — I took my tree and decorations down on the 27th. I was done with it all. I partially blame that on putting our tree up before Halloween (we were going on vacation, people!). Plus, my brother-in-law came into town on the 28th and I wanted a clean slate.
We enjoyed a very low key Christmas Eve and Christmas just the two of us! It was our first ever holiday alone and while relaxing, we are already looking forward to next year when we can be with family.
As soon as Dane’s brother came into town, we were on the move! It’s safe to say we have successfully shown him every corner of this island…and all the peaks, too! He loves hiking, so we’ve gotten to explore a good bit while having him here. Plus, showing him all our favorite hikes has been a great way to rediscover what we love so much about Oahu.
Don’t worry, we’ve squeezed in some quality beach time, too, and even got to experience fireworks on the beach together for New Year’s Eve!
It’s hard to believe we only have 6 months left here in Hawaii, so in the next few months we will be cramming in as much adventure as possible and hope to have a few more visitors before we pack up and say “aloha”!
