So I’ll be totally honest with you, I was very hesitant to try Stitch Fix, but after seeing so many people blog about it — I had to try it out! What can I say? Curiosity got the best of me and today I’m sharing my honest opinion of my very first Stitch Fix box.
Stitch Fix Review
I wanted SO BADLY to love the entirety of my box, so I made sure to do everything that the site suggested. I signed up for a Stitch Fix account, filled out my style profile, shared my Pinterest style board and expressed to my stylist that I live in Hawaii and didn’t need winter clothes and that my birthday was coming up — I was super duper excited when my box arrived two days before it was supposed to! #win
However, as soon as I opened the box and read my style card, I knew what I should have all along — having someone pick out my clothes is not something I enjoy.
I was sent:
One dressy top for work/going out with the girls
Two long sleeved tops
One sweater
One dress
Even though I didn’t like any of it upon first glance in the box, I tried it all on anyhow. I’ve read so many blogs that said “I hated it in the box, but loved it on my body!”
Everything fit pretty well, but none of it was something I would ever wear.
Honest Review of Stitch Fix
This top was very comfortable, but the material would have made me sweat like crazy here in Hawaii.
The only thing I liked about this top was the color. To me, the metal embellishments cheapened the look and it felt a little bit short on my torso.
I loved the bright colors in the back of this top, but everything about the cut was awful, not to mention LONG SLEEVES and unflattering in the front.
This dress was the only item in the box I would have considered keeping. I liked the fit and colors, but thought it was incredibly overpriced for the fabric/quality.
Again, I live in Hawaii and really have no need for a cardigan.
I guess what irritates me the most is that I specifically said no winter wear, yet I got two long sleeved tops and a sweater. I understand that this is a service that many people love and I’m happy I tried it. Sometimes you never know how you’re going to feel about something until you do it for yourself! Everyone that I’ve talked to has said that each box gets better, but at $20 per style — I kind of feel like I’d be throwing money away if I don’t keep anything.
