Hiking In Hawaii: KoKo Crater Arch | Oahu, Hawaii

Hawaii, Oahu · April 8, 2016 · 4 Comments

If you’re looking for an adrenaline pumping hike here on Oahu, I’ve got what you need! Today I’m sharing our adventure hiking the Koko Crater Arch, a heart pumping ledge that offers some fantastic coastline views!

Hiking Hawaii: KoKo Crater Arch

The KoKo Crater Arch has been on our list for quite some time, but we were never equipped to do it, because we usually had the dogs with us. Note to readers: I don’t advise bringing your pet. We’ve seen people who bring their pet mountain goat dog with them, but we didn’t think Judy or Bill could hack it, so we left them at home.
The KoKo Crater Arch Trail is a fun alternative for those who want amazing panoramic views of the ocean, but don’t want to huff it up the natural stair master, otherwise known as KoKo Head Crater. Warning: The arch ridgeline is incredibly steep and loaded with slippery rocks, so wear smart shoes! By smart shoes, I mean hiking shoes or sneakers with really thick tread. I made the mistake of wearing normal sneakers and I had a few gnarly slips that left my heart racing. Learn from my mistake!
Best Hiking Backpack
Dane is a great hiking partner, because he always pushes me to keep going, take breaks when I need them and assures me..you’re almost there! Plus, he takes really great photos 😉
Once you’re up there, the views truly do not disappoint!
If you’re looking for a short, but awesome hike, the KoKo Crater Arch is definitely for you!
