Happy Monday!
It’s definitely a happy Monday over here, because my parents are in town visiting and we just returned from a wonderful and relaxing weekend on the Big Island. We spent so much time exploring, chatting and catching up that I only snapped a few photos! Sometimes those types of trips are the best, am I right?
So happy my momma is here! |
We got to spend some time at the active volcano, black sand beach, coffee farms (too many to count!) and some macadamia nut farms (again, quite a few!).
Active volcano during the day (plus 4 nene birds) & at night! |
Rainbow Falls |
The blow hole at South Point! |
We also made sure to visit the Blue Dragon for dinner. If you’re ever visiting Hawai’i (the Big Island), be sure to make this a priority. It’s seriously one of the best places we’ve been to — open roof for perfect stargazing, live music and a farm-to-table menu.
The dessert we enjoyed this time was compliments of their amazing chef, Noah, who was inspired by the ocean floor while crafting it. Mac nut meringue, cocoa coconut “sand”, white chocolate ganache (that was then dyed blue) for coral and homemade coconut gelato. It was topped with elder flowers and tasted AMAZING.
Seriously, my mouth is watering all over again just thinking of this. Do yourself a favor and go. Trust me on this one. |
We’re back on Oahu again with plans of hiking, eating and serious beach time.
And now, the best of the internet…
I have to be honest, I can’t stop watching YouTube videos of leopard bread. Seriously, I am going to make this at some point. I’ll be sure to post photos!
Lily is a Golden Retriever that lives here in Hawaii who was given a terminal diagnosis. Thankfully, she has the coolest humans in the world who have developed a bucket list for her.
Shout out to Alex who needs to sell some cookies and Kelsey who smells like after shave for making me roar laughing.
The oldest Sumatran tiger in captivity was euthanized here in Honolulu over the weekend and it makes my heart really sad.
Leave it to Domino to break down how to cut all that weird fruit you see at the grocery store. Thankfully I stumbled upon this or I would still be scratching my head at Durian.
Forget flowers, give mom what she really wants for Mother’s Day.
The perfect mango margarita recipe.
How was your weekend? What are you loving? Tell me everything!
