I don’t know about any of you, but both my dogs go BANANAS for Frosty Paws frozen dog treats. It’s like their kryptonite after a long day of playing outside or a beach trip. One thing that irks me about store-bought treats for dogs is the price, so I’ve been trying to create as many as I can at home with things I already have in my house. I love whipping up these 2-ingredient frozen dog treats for them, but I was determined to get the Frosty Paws recipe down. And today – that recipe is here! I’m sharing all the details on my DIY Frosty Paws Dog Treats!
DIY Frosty Paws Dog Treats
Homemade Dog Ice Cream
Today I’m sharing a dupe for Frosty Paws – the frozen treats you can usually find in the stores. I wanted to find a way to make them at home so I knew every single ingredient that was going into them. This is for two reasons: 1. Judy is allergic to so many things that even just a smidgen of something can make her flare up, which means a nightmare for me. and 2. I like being able to say – hey, this is EXACTLY what is in there and be confident in what I’m feeding the dogs.
For this recipe you will need:
1/2 cup homemade peanut butter (I make my own, but store bought would be find. Just make sure it doesn’t contain xylitol!)
1 cup plain yogurt (Greek yogurt is fine!)
2 tbsp. vegetable broth (or chicken if your dogs don’t have a chicken allergy!)
Make Your Own Frosty Paws
1. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
2. Distribute evenly into a large ice cube tray or other mold. You can snag my paw print silicone mold here.
3. Freeze for 12 hours, or overnight.
4. Treat your pup!
