Try saying that title five times fast 😉 Of course, we all know that sunglasses are a fun accessory, but their role outside the fashion world is far more important. The sun is SO powerful – I learned this early on when I moved to Hawaii. Just like you protect your skin from ultraviolet rays, you need to protect your eyes, too! According to a study by the National Eye Institute (NEI), an estimated 20% of cataract cases (a condition that blurs vision) are caused by prolonged UV exposure. That’s freaking scary! The NEI also recommends seeking out sunglasses that block both UVA and UVB rays for ultimate protection. I don’t know about you, but I have no plans for contributing to blurry vision. That terrifies me! With summer here, it’s time to get serious about your sunglasses. If you live in a sunny location all the time, then here’s an excuse to get a new pair 🙂 Today I’m sharing 6 stylish sunglasses for summer 2017!

6 Stylish Sunglasses For Summer 2017
I’m the first person to admit that I have many pairs of sunglasses. A pair in my car, a pair in my purse, a pair in my beach bag, a pair in my garage (don’t ask – it’s easy to grab them and go when I go running)…like I said, it’s kind of ridiculous. That said, I never want to be in a situation where I’m outside in the sun, squinting and giving myself a big ‘ole headache. NO THANK YOU. But – I have different pairs for different occasions…let’s chat sunglass styles, shall we?
First up – sunglasses I would run in. For me, what I need most is a pair of sunglasses that hug my face, which eliminates any bouncing around that becomes distracting. Preferably, they are polarized! The O’Neill Anso (top) or Lunettos (second from bottom) would be best for that. The Lunettos may seem like an odd choice for any fellow runners, but I love that they cover more than just my eyes and offer the same closeness as wrap-around sunglasses (like Oakley). For what it’s worth, I did own a pair of Oakleys once and while I liked them, I didn’t love them. For the price, I wanted to love them. Make sense?
Next up – beach sunglasses. My go-tos for the beach are always a plastic frame, because they are easier to clean. I also tend to shy away from any pairs that have a colored mirror frame, as sometimes they can get scratched up easily from any stray sand particles. My favorites for the beach from the selection above include the Audrey-inspired Lunettos (second from top) or Fantas Surfriders (bottom).
Finally – my “nice” sunglasses that I reserve for dinner out, errands or when I’m actually dressed nicely – you know what I’m talking about! See also: not sweaty or in gym clothes. I like to change things up every now and then, so I’ll either opt for aviators (middle-top) or a RayBan inspired pair (middle-bottom).
