Considering making the trek to KoleKole Pass? Read this post before you attempt this easy Oahu hike!
I have to be honest – I have no idea why it’s taken me so long to blog about hiking the Kolekole Pass here on Oahu. We did this hike for the first time almost two years ago now! We love all sorts of hiking in Hawaii, so when we heard about this quick hike located on Schofield Barracks, we were all in. Kolekole Pass is open on certain weekends when there are no live-fire exercises happening (they announce when it’s open and closed) and is only open to DOD cardholders and their guests.
Hiking In Hawaii: Kolekole Pass
It’s very pet friendly and we saw lots of families with small kids hiking, too! The hike has a few hills and inclines, but is very well maintained and easy to follow.
When my mom visited we took her up the trail and she loved it. It’s a quick hike, but will burn your buns thanks to a couple quick inclines. It’s safe to say the dogs love it, too!
