Happy Wednesday, friends! We are halfway to the weekend and today’s post is a fun one that allows me to reflect a little bit on life “currently”. These posts are masterminded by Anne and I love her for always putting them together so thoughtfully. It seems like her prompts always inspire me to dig a little bit deeper than slapping up a photo recap post or simply sharing our weekend. Be sure to head to her page to see a peek at her post and all the other fabulous bloggers who are linking up! So without further ado, let’s hop right into life currently…
Planning – Oh my goodness – I feel like I am in a whirlwind of planning. Dane and I have three big international trips this year, two of which are happening in April/May. Both are work related for me, so the where has been determined, but details like lodging, meals, budget, transportation, dog sitting, etc. are all left to me to hash out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m super excited, but it seems like I’ve had Google Flights and TripAdvisor in my browser on loop!
Seeing – We’ve been on a movie watching bender lately. We go in phases with watching movies and I’m not really sure why. Needless to say that lately we’ve seen The Greatest Showman (GO WATCH IT IMMEDIATELY), Wonder (cried my eyes out – a must see), I, Tonya (I was a little shocked by how much I liked this and Dane agrees), Molly’s Game (Dane enjoyed it, I thought it was so-so), and 12 Strong (a must see – I learned a ton). Also of note is the movie, Get Out, which isn’t new per se, but I had heard great things. We started watching it and I had to turn it off, because I was so scared, but I read the synopsis and the messaging behind it is SO GOOD. Seriously, if you are into thriller type of movies – watch it for me! Next up on our list is The 15:17 To Paris. Have you seen it?
Making – I finally got the ingredients for the “quick recipe” that has taken the internet by storm – 2 ingredient pizza dough. The recipe is easy and quick, which is why (I think) it came to popularity and basically went viral. It calls for 1.5 cups self-rising flour (this is the only gluten free variety I could find, but if you know of others – help me out!) and 1 cup Greek yogurt. It seemed simple enough, but I was wary about taste, so being the kind and loving wife that I am – I tested it out on Dane first. The only twist I added of my own was adding in a dash of garlic powder to the mix. You guys – he loved it. He said it tasted good and the texture wasn’t weird. So, I made a pizza for myself and topped it with salad, which is probably my favorite meal, inspired by a restaurant in my hometown (Pizza Grille). I will 100% make this recipe again, I just wish the GF self rising flour wasn’t so dang expensive.
Pretending – I am a millionaire, LOL! I have this weird, weird habit lately of growing a store online, filling my cart with literally every possible item that catches my eye and closing out the window and clearing my browser history. Is that weird?! You don’t have to answer – I know it is. I am trying to be more intentional with my purchases and not hop on every sale I see, but it doesn’t make window shopping any less fun!
Wearing – Yesterday I posted on my Instagram stories about this shirt I’ve been wearing (an oldy but goody from Free People) on repeat. So many people had a lot of things to say about it (it’s a tent, it’s way too big on you, are you pregnant?) and honestly – I don’t care. I love it so much, it’s mega comfortable and it’s white – it matches all my printed pants that I love too. Plus, it’s super airy and perfect for the questionable weather we’ve had here lately. I feel like I can throw it on and go! What could be better?
So let’s chat – are you planning anything fun? Cooking anything delicious? Wearing the best thing you’ve ever discovered?! Dish!
