Loving Lately: Caftan Crazy

Fashion · April 27, 2018 · Leave a Comment

If there’s one thing that people know about me, it’s like love a good caftan. For the beach, pool, or just to wear around – these easy, breezy pieces never cease  to catch my eye and call my name. I’ve found a few winners lately that are worth mentioning, plus some tried and true favorite you absolutely cannot go wrong with. So if light and easy speaks to you as much as it does to me – today’s post on all things caftan is for YOU. Let me know which ones catch your eye or if you have a favorite I missed!

Loving Lately: Caftan Crazy

Pondichérie – I have a similar style in black and I wore it all over Tahiti. Admittedly, I also plan to wear it to outings that don’t involve sand or sun, because it’s just such an easy piece to throw on and the basic base lends itself nicely to fun accessories. It’s definitely a spend, but “each garment is made from textiles sourced in India, with a specific emphasis on empowering and supporting the craftswomen who produce them. Every piece of fabric is hand-died and woven using techniques that have been passed down through generations of artisans. We also support commerce closer to home by designing, cutting, and constructing our line in the United States.” Plus, I know it’s a piece I’ll wear for years to come.

Neon Embroidered Caftan – My two favorite things – neon and long, billowy fabric – had a love child and it’s this caftan. What’s not to love?

Grey Stripe With Tassels – Where do I even begin with this one? I have loved this brand since before my Hawaii days, even though it’s not always 100% in my budget. That said – the products are made to last and I can happily report that one of my very favorite Seafolly caftans has lasted well over 5 years. I was a little hesitant about how durable those tassels would be (and you all know I love a good tassel or pom!) and I’m happy to say that travel, the washing machine, beach days and pool visits have put mine through the ringer and it has held up so well. Every time I wear it I get compliments and it’s one of those pieces I reach for every time. Well worth the spend!

Basic Tassel Coverup – I have never been so proud of myself for finding such a good ‘save’ option as when I stumbled upon this beauty at one of my favorite never-would-have-throught-to-look-there retailers — Amazon! For less than $18 and about a million different color choices, you can be styling in this chic caftan coverup. Word to the wise: it’s pretty sheer so maybe it’s best to keep this one for pool or beach trips only 🙂

Bohemian Shift – If you’re not ready to go all-in on a floor sweeping caftan, this option is a good pick and who can resist bright + happy colors for summer? Definitely not me! For $20 (less if we’re getting technical) and an array of prints/colors to choose from you really can’t go wrong. Depending on how tall you are, this can also be worn has a nice shift style for warmer months, but beware – it is slightly shorter than a normal ‘dress’, so proceed with caution 😉 Here is a similar style in ankle-length.

Long Tassel Caftan – Tassels, bright colors and under $20 – what’s not to love? Pick this up if you’re dying to get on board with sweeping, billowy caftans, but not quite ready for one of the splurge options. One thing to note that despite the colors – it’s sheer – so plan accordingly!

Happy Friday + happy shopping, everyone!
