I have never been wild about my arms, but at the beginning of this year, I decided I wanted to stop looking at photos and going…ugh. Instead, I wanted to feel strong, but I didn’t want to look or feel “bulky”, which is sometimes what we all think of when we hear the words “weight lifting” or really, any workout that involves weights. I shared in my fitness update last week that I’ve been doing workouts aside from running that make me excited about fitness and the 4 free workouts I’m sharing today definitely fit that bill! I made it my mission to tone up my arms and 6 (almost 7) months in, I can definitely tell a difference. Am I ending my arm-toning workout journey? Heck no! I have more I want to accomplish, but I’m so dang excited about the progress I’ve made that I wanted to pop in today really quickly to share 4 free workouts I found on YouTube that have made all the difference. You can do these arm workouts at home or on the road, but all of them require dumbbells of some sort (or at least a weight). If you’re traveling, grab some water bottles! If you’re at home, this is the set I use and I cannot say enough good things!
4 Free Workouts That Toned My Arms In 6 Months
It can be really intimidating to starting using weights, whether you’re at home or in the gym. What do I do? Where do I start? Am I even working anything? I was right there with you! While Dane is great about showing me new moves I can try, I really love that all the following videos are done by fellow women and created for toning arms, growing muscle and not getting super bulky (something they all mention at one point or another).
1. Sculpt Your Arms – FAST! – This video is one I discovered while looking for another specific video, but oh boy – I’m so glad I found it! This is my favorite of all of these, because despite the moves being really easy, I feel like you work every single muscle in your arm and I am PANTING by the time it’s done. When you feel like the moves are getting too easy — up your weights!
2. Madonna’s Arm Workout – Okay, have you seen Madonna’s arms?! They are no freaking joke and while I am nowhere near it, this video makes me feel like a total badass when I do it start to finish. I’m going to warn you now, at minute 8 when you’re laying on the mat, you’re going to want to just turn the thing off because if you’re like me – your arms might feel like JELL-O, but wow — this is a total “good burn” and you’ll feel it for days after!
3. 8 Minute Shoulders + 8 Minute Toned Arms – These two workouts go hand-in-hand for me and if you do them both on the same day…good luck putting your hands above your head the next day. Don’t be fooled by the 8-minute time frame, Ashley will kick your arms into shape in absolutely no time. What I love most about Ashley’s workouts is that she incorporates moves you know, but switches them up to get a new burn.
4. Quick Burn Arms – This arm blast doesn’t require weights at all and before you tell me — how could that possibly work, Kait? JUST TRY IT! Because you’re sitting down the whole time I was like – could this really be that difficult? And then I wanted to punch myself, because my arms and shoulders were SCREAMING. I highly recommend this workout if you happen to be in a hotel room, or somewhere where weights aren’t easily accessible and you’ve got no water bottles to sub in!
And there you have! 4 (well I guess, technically 5!) arm workouts for women (but Dane has done them with me!) that toned me up incredibly fast. I will say that I’m pretty regimented about doing them — hey, you’ve gotta put the work in to get the results, right? — but I don’t mind them and when I switch them up each day, they don’t bore or annoy me.
