I feel like workout wear is such a weird world. On one hand, you’re going to sweat in it and get it completely gross, so you don’t want to invest a TON of money into it, but then on the other hand you want something that is going to be supportive and work. It’s a fine line (at least for me) and it’s safe to say I’ve spent a small fortune on testing out gear in an effort to find something that is both affordable AND works in the sports bra department. I also feel this way about other fitness apparel, but today I’m focusing on sports bras. Specifically – ones that I reach for in my drawer each and every time. So pull up a seat, because today I’m sharing 4 sports bras I swear by…
4 Sports Bras I Swear By
When I first started really getting into fitness, I realized pretty quickly that sports bras were a pretty critical part of the workout process. I barely have boobs to contend with, but here’s a fun fact no one tells you about when you get into running…nipple chafing. And let me just be transparent about all that – it hurts and it takes forever to go away. Bottom line? Keep your nipples healthy and invest in sports bras that agree with your body (and band-aids). Moving on…
Seamless Support Grey Bra | This bra is my very best friend. I have it in nearly every freaking color that has ever been made, because it’s just so dang comfortable on me. Heck, I even reach for one I have that I wear when I’m not working out (yes it’s separate because my workout gear stinks). They’re soft, no itchy tags (sidenote: WHY ARE COMPANIES STILL USING TAGS?!) and last me an impressive amount of time for the wear + tear I put them through. I will say that I am small chested and I do think that has a lot to do with it, so if you are more than an A cup (lucky duck), I cannot vouch for the support in this bra simply because I do not know what that is like!
Strappy Back Sports Bra | I discovered this bra after I had been wearing the one above for awhile, because I’ll be honest, it’s just like it, except with a little bit more fancy of straps in the back. I will be even more honest and admit that it’s EXACTLY LIKE the bra that a certain high end fitness apparel store sells for about quadruple the price. For the price of this one, I’m mega impressed and now have two. I wear it when I’m going on hikes, because it does the job it’s supposed to (aka SUPPORT), but also looks cute in photos.
Seamless Racerback | I was in a bind looking for a sports bra and snagged this one on a whim while traveling. It seemed like it would be supportive and it’s soft (like the previous two), so I was like alright – let’s do it. It’s safe to say I picked a winner on a whim! (pats self on back). I have since bought it in a second and third color and this is great for when I’m wanting to do something that’s a bit more high impact and requires serious movement. I’m not fitness apparel expert, but I’m convinced it’s because the straps are thicker. Also to note, it doesn’t get smelly as quickly as some of the other fitness bras I have. It’s not marketed as “no stink” or anything like that, but just something I’ve noticed about it. WIN!
Active High Impact Bra | You might recognize this bra from this blog post. If you aren’t already aware of this, Walmart is having a major moment in the clothing department and everything about their fitness offerings that I’ve seen recently is neon. Well, if you’re new here, let me just say that I’m like a moth to a flame when it comes to neon. I took a chance on the above sports bra, because even though it looks more orange, it’s very, very bright in real life. I’ve worn it a few times for running and the support and quality for price are there. I’m impressed!
