Considering a trip to Tahiti or just want a little virtual vacation? Let these aerial overwater bungalow photos inspire your next vacation!
When I published my post on 30 Drone Photos To Inspire A Trip To Oahu, I got quite a few people telling me that I should publish more of my drone photography. Truth be told, it’s kind of a joint effort between Dane and I to fly the drone and edit the photos! If you want to learn more, here is a post on everything you need to know about our drone, regulations + more. Inspired by the feedback I got, I wanted to put together a post with some of the drone photos we have taken on our trips to Tahiti (3 Days In Tahaa, 3 Days In Moorea, FAQ: Planning A Trip To French Polynesia).
For us, staying in an overwater bungalow was always a big bucket list check and I cannot say enough good things about just how tranquil and relaxing a trip to the islands of Tahiti can be.
Overwater bungalows can be found all over the world, even though they are pretty synonymous with honeymooning in Bora Bora, Moorea, Tahaa and the other islands of French Polynesia. One thing worth noting is that we got permission to fly from both resorts and if we saw people in their bungalows, immediately landed the aircraft. I don’t think it’s safe or fair to fly when people are trying to relax. Early mornings when people were leaving for excursions and sunset time frame worked best for us to avoid interrupting people.
Whether you are trying to plan a trip or just daydreaming at your desk, here are 34 drone photos of overwater bungalows in Tahiti! Keep your eyes peeled in the photos below of the rays that live in the water surrounding most of the bungalows we’ve stayed in, me walking at dusk in a bathrobe, colorful floats + more!
