Happy Tuesday! We are coming down the barrel of the very end of my September Blogging Challenge – kind of crazy! If you missed my blogging challenge announcement post, I’ve been feeling a little bit uninspired by blogging and social media and I wanted to bring it back to where it all began…little old me behind my keyboard tapping away. And so – that’s what is happening! I know there are “blog every day” challenges, but honestly – I don’t blog every day as it is, so committing to 30 days was intimidating for me. Instead, I put together 20 prompts that really inspired me and whipped up a list for when you can expect them here. Today’s prompt is 4 Things I’m Grateful For Today. I’ve been big into journaling recently and sharing snippets of gratitude from everyday life can be such a rewarding time slot of my day. It doesn’t have to be long winded explanations and it can be longer than 4, but I always try mix things up and make them very specific to that exact day. To be clear, things I am always grateful my core (more on that below)! Today I’m sharing my gratitude list from Friday, 9/21, since we have been traveling a good bit and I wanted to type up this post ahead of time 🙂
4 Things I’m Grateful For Today (From 9/21)
1. My core of gratitude: Dane, my family, Bill + Judy, and my health. I call these my core, because it would be really easy to list them all out for the day and complete my list in the same way each day. Instead, I count them as 1 and list 3 unique and different things for that specific day, but my core is always #1!
2. The ability to travel. We boarded a plane today headed to the East coast to meet up with friends before heading off to Iceland. I am thankful for a job that allows me to travel so frequently, a husband who loves to go on adventures as much as I do and friends who can join in on our fun! Also, exceptionally grateful for an amazing dog nanny who loves Judy + Bill like her own and makes me comfortable leaving them behind when we go on vacation 🙂
3. A roof over our heads/safe home. I have been seeing so many social media posts related to Hurricane Florence and can’t help but think about all the people in NC who are facing extreme home damage and/or loss of property. I feel very grateful Oahu has only seen rain and wind from the two hurricanes that have passed over us.
4. Happy hour that is actually affordable. Two nights ago, I met my friend Jenny for drinks at a brewery down by the water. Typically, even happy hour in Hawaii can break the bank – it’s just expensive! But I was happy to head out for drinks, have it be affordable, and share some laughs with my friend 🙂
