Do you prefer snowy vacations or warm vacations? If you haven’t noticed, Dane and I have been on a winter weather vacation bender this year and it’s done one thing – cement how much we enjoy snowy, cold escapes, especially since we live in Hawaii. Between Alaska and Iceland, we are dreaming of bundling up this winter for a holiday escape. Who’s with me?! Last year, we rented a house in Scottsdale with friends of ours to celebrate the new year and it worked out so well. This year, Dane and I are trying to figure out a cold-weather couples getaway and I wanted to share some of the HomeAway rentals in contention! Here are 10 HomeAway + VRBO rentals I’ve been dreaming about for a winter escape. If you’ve also been dreaming of a winter escape, be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom for a fun giveaway opportunity with VRBO!
10 HomeAway + VRBO Rentals I’ve Been Dreaming About For A Winter Escape
First things first, why rent a vacation rental?
Superior value: Vacation rentals provide big value, specifically around the holidays when some hotels really raise their prices.
Extra space: The average vacation rental home is 1,500 square feet, almost six times the size of the average hotel room (330 sq. ft.) Extra bedrooms mean more room for additional friends or family, making the trip more affordable for everyone by splitting costs. This was especially true during our trip to Scottsdale!
More amenities: In addition to providing more privacy and comfort, vacation rentals are equipped with amenities that make life easier for travelers, such as kitchens, barbecue grills, private pools, washer/dryers and pet-friendly options. During our travels in Iceland, we would have been lost without our washer and dryer and kitchen!
Authentic experience: Overall, vacation rentals enable travelers to experience a destination like a local – offering more opportunities to create lasting memories. This was never so true than our apartment rental in Florence where were in a beautiful piazza we probably wouldn’t have discovered otherwise!
So now, let’s roll right into some of the beautiful home rentals I’ve been scoping out. Places I’m considering include New York City, Park City, Vail, Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley. Have you ever visited any of these places? We’ve been to NYC several times, but never to any of the others!
New York City
Apartment in Greenwich Village
Park City, Utah
Ski House (with movie theater!)
Vail
Vail Valley Single Family Home
Lake Tahoe
Squaw Valley
Do I have you dreaming of a wintery vacation yet? If so, you’re in luck!
