Who here loves the author Liane Moriarty? I think the first book I read of hers was Big Little Lies and I was completely hooked. Heck, I even did a blog post on “10 Books To Read If You Loved Big Little Lies”. I motored through the rest of Liane Moriarty’s books in record time (highly recommend!) and then I was like – but what books do I read now? It got me digging to find more authors who are phenomenal at writing thriller books that keep you guessing.
One thing I love about Liane’s writing style is how engaging it feels as the reader with an almost immediate hook. It’s safe to say the thriller authors, and some psychological thriller authors, below fit the bill…and then some! Today I’m sharing 7 authors to read if you love Liane Moriarty, including which books to start with and others to add to your wish list. Happy reading!
7 Authors To Read If You Love Liane Moriarty
Sheryl Browne – I don’t know what it is about Sheryl’s books, but I will go the whole book thinking I know what’s going to happen and then just when I think I’m right, a total mind f*ck occurs! Personally, those are my favorite kinds of thrillers. I started with “The Babysitter” and would highly recommend it.
K.L. Slater – The first book of Kim’s that I read was “The Mistake” and then I read “LIAR” and so began an all encompassing love affair with her work. Her books are the type that you can’t put down and find yourself staying up late to finish.
B.A. Paris – If there was an author who I could say, without a doubt, always makes my heart race, it’s B.A. Paris. You’ll recognize her best-seller, “Behind Closed Doors”, but don’t miss other favorites “The Break Down” and “Bring Me Back”.
Best Thriller Authors
Liv Constantine – You may recognize this author for her best-seller “The Last Mrs. Parrish”, which is excellent. I read most of it in a single flight and have since passed it on to two different people, who both enjoyed it. Keep her on your radar for her new book coming out in May 2019 – “The Last Time I Saw You”, which you can pre-order now!
Shalini Boland – I actually discovered Shalini’s work on Amazon (they do a great job of recommending) and I’m SO GLAD I found her. I started with “The Silent Sister” and it was…beyond creepy. If you like books that will be both thrilling and slightly disturbing (YES PLEASE), run, don’t walk, to Shalini’s books.
Britney King – I was introduced to Britney’s work through an Instagram post (I can’t remember who at the moment, but I’m forever thankful!) and I was immediately intrigued. The book I chose first was “The Social Affair”, because it has to do with social media. OH BOY – this one will get you good. I’m not sure why more people aren’t raving about Britney, because she is SUCH a talented writer. Definitely add her books to your list! Has anyone read her “Water Series”? That’s next on my list!
Shari Lapena – The first book I read of Shari’s was “The Couple Next Door” and I actually read it shortly after B.A. Paris’ “Behind Closed Doors”, so apparently I was on a kick with freaky shit happening to neighbors. That is neither here nor there, because she is an excellent author and stands out among thriller writers. Next I dove into “Stranger In The House” which honestly kept me up at night (my fault for reading it when Dane wasn’t home), but I LOVED it and like I said, her writing stands for itself in so many ways!
If you’re reading this post, but haven’t yet discovered Liane Moriarty, I’ve linked my favorites of hers below. You cannot go wrong with any of these picks 🙂
