If you have been around this blog a time or two, you know that my relationship with exercise is more than just doing something for my body, it’s for my mental health, too. In 2017, I shared a diet and exercise transformation post that so many of you related to and loved. I’ve also shared my marathon journey, best 30 minute or less workouts, favorite hotel room workouts for when I’m on-the-go (which is frequently) and then did a 2018 fitness update where I talked about how my workouts have been. In any case – exercise and what I eat are big parts of my life, so today I wanted to share the free workout program that changed my body in 21 days from Glow Body PT. I know that sounds gimmicky and I was certainly skeptical, but I’m here to tell you that it works and what kind of blogger would I be if I didn’t share it with all of you? If you like free workouts that don’t take up a ton of time and target all areas of your body, today’s post is for you.
Glow Body PT – The Free Workout That Changed My Body In 21 Days
One thing I really love is a full body workout that doesn’t involve hours and hours of time spent. Don’t get me wrong, I love working out, but I think we can all agree that sometimes like gets busy, so I love having something that I know works well for those spots of life. I was first introduced to Glow Body PT by my friend Katie who shared about it on Instagram in February 2018. She shared that she loves the workouts and that Ashley (the founder) is a fellow military spouse, which I really loved, so I clicked over.
First of all, Ashley is in freaking amazing shape and I could see right away that her workouts were going to force me to focus on areas I typically skip because they’re hard (like inner thighs), which is not ideal but just keeping it real for all of you! She had just started her 21-Day 8 Minute Workout Challenge and so I figured – it’s 8 minutes, it’s free, why not? I signed up and so began my journey with Glow Body PT.
I think now is a good time to tell you that this post is, in no way, sponsored, paid or endorsed by Ashley or her company. I just genuinely love the program and it’s only right that I share why with all of you.
Ashley’s 21 day program is completely free and comes with a clickable workout calendar, where she shares your daily workouts (usually 2, 8-minute videos for a total of 16 minutes) and a basic food outline if you’re interested. Dane and I follow a pretty clean diet, so I skipped the meal plan, but followed the workout calendar. It’s safe to say that I was like “8 minutes? How hard could this be?” ASHLEY KICKED MY ASS. I mean, she still does, but during that first month I would find myself pausing around minute 5 wondering if I could possibly go on. I had never really done any free Youtube fitness videos that were so targeted and effective before and just when I wanted to quit at minute 8, they were over.
Here is my before photo. Just excuse the look on my face, that is what self timer on my cell phone will give ya! LOL
The below photo is me at the end of week 1 on the left and at the end of week 2 on the right.
And then my before photo compared to my last progress shot when I finished the program (during our trip to Italy!) for the first time.
At the end of 21 days, I felt the videos getting easier, my core tightening, muscle definition and strength – I was hooked! So, at the end of 21 days, I did the only logical thing and took one day off before starting back at day 1. It’s been almost a full year of having Glow Body PT workout videos in my life (she also has other ass-kicking fitness videos on the Glow Body PT Youtube Channel) and it’s safe to say that Ashley’s free workouts have changed my entire body. Not only have they created a stronger core, but I see muscle definition in places I’ve never noticed it before and I most assuredly feel stronger. I also love that since her videos are on Youtube, I can take them with me when I travel!
One thing I do want to mention is that for me, starting Ashley’s challenge wasn’t about weight loss, it was about toning and I am happy to say it has made all the difference in my body and, specifically, my core. I feel like I’m able to do exercises that once really intimidated me (a big win) and still find myself being challenged by doing her videos — they don’t feel tired or boring.
Have you ever done Glow Body PT’s workouts? What did you think?
