It’s been awhile since I did a 5 on Friday post, hasn’t it? I figured it was time to get back to it! I’m anxious to get the weekend started since it’s the last long weekend for a little while, but before we go into full relaxation mode, let’s dive in…
5 On Friday
1. I went on a hike with my friend Jenny earlier this week and it felt so good to break up the monotony of the work week and do something completely off schedule while catching up with a friend. She is a friend from college who now lives here with her family and I always laugh my tail off when we are together. It helped that the weather was absolutely gorgeous (not too hot with a nice wind) for our adventure.
2. I finally got my act together and hung the gallery wall I’ve been dragging my feet about in our living room. I was waiting for a final frame for the Iceland art we bought during our trip last fall (far right) and I think it was worth the wait! I’m leaving the space above the Hawaii print open for now while I search for the perfect final touch. Even with the blank space, I really like how things came together! The custom dog portraits and Dane’s handwritten wedding vows might be my favorite parts!
3. Last winter, I snagged a pair of Native sneakers and it was my #1 purchase of 2018. I’m happy to report that these shoes have been all around the world, clocked at least 25+ miles and are still going strong. They’re absolutely perfect for rainy winter Hawaiian days and the fact that I can toss them in my dishwasher to get clean is nothing short of miraculous. I love them just as much as the day I bought them! They were perfect for pairing with leggings and a chambray top last weekend to get lunch with my friend Julie. 4. Is anyone else on the Poshmark app? I love it and I feel like it’s a great way to sell quality items that don’t have a home in your closet anymore or picking up some styles that have been gently worn at a fraction of the retail cost! You can find me on Poshmark here.
5. Friday night is our date night where we grab all the snacks we have in the house and head down to the water to watch the sunset. It’s probably one of the very few traditions I hold dear and refuse to mess with (sorry, we are always busy on Fridays!), because it’s special time for Dane and I to unwind and talk about our weeks without the distraction of television, phones or computers. Aside from being special time for just the two of us, it’s also an incredibly easy and FREE date night. Here’s a snap from last week…
Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!
