It’s been awhile and I’m so glad to be back! Morocco was exceptional in every way and I hope that you’ve been enjoying the recap posts so far. Believe me, there is SO MUCH MORE where that came from and I’ve got quite a few posts in the queue recapping our trip so stay tuned. I won’t lie, the time off did wonders for my creativity, but I’m happy to be back in this space again. Today I’m back with my 5 Things I Love Friday series that I started before I left and I actually have 6 things I’m loving this week, but maybe that makes up for skipping a week while we were away 😉 Without further delay, let’s jump in to what I’m loving!
5 Things I Love Friday
I know, I know, this has been included in a previous “love list”, but it’s just TOO GOOD! The amount of wear I got from this maxi dress in Morocco is reason enough to include it here for weeks to come. For starters, it’s less than $25 and comes in a ton of colors. During our trip, I found myself reaching for it over and over, because it worked well for day and night.
It’s conservative, yet still cute and completely functional. The slits up the side look higher than they are, so I never felt like I was too exposed, but they kept the air flow going so I never felt hot. This was especially key in Marrakech where it felt a bit sweaty and here in Honolulu, I would probably knot it up on the side to make it a bit more fashion-forward.
Mini Travel Guides
My friend Hailey created a fun template over on Instagram that serves as a “Mini Travel Guide” for cities. All you have to do is find the template in her stories, snag a screenshot and fill it in for your city. I love that it’s a quick glimpse at what to expect in certain towns.
I gifted Funcl Ear Pods to Dane for Christmas and he has done nothing but rave about them ever since! In fact, we both love them. To be honest, I was really nervous about them, because I kept feeling paranoid about losing one, but (knock on wood) that hasn’t happened and the sound quality is phenomenal in these wireless ear pods.
Dane gets really sweaty when he works out, so he was slightly concerned about ruining them in some way, but that hasn’t happened either despite many, many high intensity sweat sessions. They are really great for workouts, travel and more, plus connecting them to your devices is a breeze.
If you’ve been on the fence about testing our wireless ear pods, definitely check out Funcl Ear Pods and use COUPON CODE ‘ KGESBPSY’ to bring them down to just $49! They are just as good as Apple (if not better honestly) and a fraction of the cost! Coupon code expires 3/31, so if you’re interested, definitely capitalize ASAP!
Okay, this is kind of gross to admit, but here we go. On our way back from Morocco, we had two full days of flying to get back to Honolulu. It’s a 50+ hour HAUL! I always fly in my favorite leggings, but I’ll be frank — I did not smell good. When we got to San Francisco, I knew there was absolutely no way I was going to be enduring another 5 hours to Honolulu in my current state, so I did a little bathroom wipe down and much to my surprise…my leggings live up to their “stink free” promise. I had taken off my clothes to shake them out a bit and I was pretty shocked by how not-smelly my leggings were. Like I said, I know it’s gross, but it amazed me enough to include it here, HA!
Pinterest Views
I have been working overtime on my Pinterest strategy since the start of the new year and I’ll be darned – it’s paying off! During our trip, my Pinterest hit 1.1M monthly views and I did a little happy dance. At one point last year it was over 1M, but then it took a nose dive into the low 300k range where it stayed for too long, so I’m really happy to be noticing improvement. If you are interested, be sure to follow along over there 🙂
Glasses
You guys, I have been on the hunt for new glasses for ages. I have tried Warby Parker, Firmoo, GlassesUSA, Lenscrafters, Costco and any and all eyewear stores I saw while traveling — nothing is appealing to me. I don’t feel like I have a tall order (really chunky rectangular frames in a tortoise shell print), but I’m amazed at how hard that has been to find. The key is that I want the frames to be relatively thick and purely rectangular, not circle. If you’ve got the winning ticket, please help a girl out!
I am so desperate that when I see people wearing frames I love, I approach them to tell them as much…and then inquire where they found them! It’s typically a one-off store that isn’t accessible to me or a place they can’t seem to recall. Any and all recommendations welcome!
And that’s what I am loving this week! What have you discovered a loved this week?
