Looking for the Best Acai Bowls On Oahu? Today’s post is for you!
If there’s a treat that Hawaii has gotten me hooked on, it’s acai bowls. I can never get enough of them! Acai bowls are a popular breakfast and snack item (okay, let’s be honest — they’re a good any time food) that is full of fruit and granola goodness. Of course, there are different variations of acai bowls, but the main components include an acai berry blend as the base and then topped with fresh fruit, granola and honey.
One of the things I love best about acai bowls is that they can be completely customizable to fit what fruit you like. I have made it my mission over the last seven years to find the best acai bowls on Oahu and today I’m sharing them with you! So, whether you’re planning a trip to Oahu or just want a little bit of acai bowl food porn, today’s post is for you ๐
Best Acai Bowls On Oahu
Island Vintage Coffee – This was on of the first places I ever had an acai bowl and it doesn’t disappoint! There are a few location across Oahu and I always order mind without bananas on top.
Shaka Bowls – This is a good truck that drives all around the island, so finding them might be a little bit more difficult, but man oh man — it is worth the find! They have a few set bowl options (poke bowls, too!) and then you can add toppings you love for a little bit extra. 10/10 recommend doing the Island Bowl, which gives you a scoop of sorbet on top!
Surfers Coffee (Wahiawa) – I will warn you — parking here might be a bit of a hassle, but the giant acai bowl should lure you in, especially if you’re headed toward the North Shore and need some breakfast. This coffee shop is adorable, with tons of leather couches for seating and sometimes live music. The staff is friendly, too! They don’t offer a ton of food, so the bowls are served as is (no customizing) but that’s 100% okay, because they are SO GOOD.
Where To Get Acai Bowls – Oahu
Banzai Bowls (North Shore) – If you are pulling into a gas station, you’re in the right place! I got so lost the first time I came to Banzai Bowls, but now it’s a staple for us on days when we venture pretty far up the North Shore (beyond Sunset Beach toward Laie). They specialize in acai bowls and smoothies, so your wish — their command. They can pretty much make anything and the bowls are enormous. It’s a must if you’re in the area!
Juic’d Life (Kakaako/Honolulu) – I came in here for the fresh pressed juice (also pictured and DELISH!) and left with an acai bowl, which was surprisingly really tasty! If you’re heading into Honolulu, Juic’d is upstairs in the Kakaako SALT complex. Be sure to park in the garage and get validated.
Haleiwa Bowls (Haleiwa) – Haleiwa Bowls (my favorite on the island!) is a Haleiwa staple, so if you’re planning to roll through this sleepy surf town, be sure to stop at their little shack across from Haleiwa Joe’s before you go across the bridge. Acai bowls are their specialty and they have every kind of assortment imaginable. The blue bowl is particularly tasty (sorry no snaps!), and be sure to add coconut if they’ve got it ๐
Banan (Honolulu) – Banan has a few locations around Honolulu and a truck, so keep your eyes open! While technically not a traditional acai bowl, I wanted to include it, because they offer an acai flavor that is out of this world. Banan is banana-based soft serve that is made completely dairy free. You can get fruit toppings, granola and honey, which is why I included it here ๐
Sunrise Shack Acai Bowls
Sunrise Shack (North Shore Location) – Blink and you’ll miss this place, but it’s worth navigating the slightly awkward location on the North Shore to stop, park and enjoy! They’ve got tables set up behind the shack that are so cute and in the winter, watching the waves from this area is insane. Like some of the other places on this list, they specialize in bowls and other vegan treats. Dane LOVES the Monkey Bowl (a banana and peanut butter blend) and I like to stick with the normal acai bowl.
Sunrise Shack (Honolulu Location) – There is a second Sunrise Shack in Honolulu just inside the Outrigger Waikiki property, so if you don’t have plans to hit the North Shore, but want to taste their yummy bowls, you’re in luck. They have the same menu (or at least so close I can’t tell the difference) and a couple little benches to sit inside. Make sure you order a bulletproof coffee — OUT OF THIS WORLD!
And somehow, through all the years we’ve lived here, I don’t have photos of some of my other favorite places! GAH! So, bear with me while I get them all listed out here. Don’t worry, these acai bowl places are JUST as good, and I must have been too busy devouring instead of snapping a pic ๐

Diamond Head Cove Health Bar (Honolulu) – It’s 100% worth noting that not only do they have excellent acai bowls, but their entire menu is delicious. It’s kind of crammed, but try to snag a table outside!
