Whew! You guys, this post has been a long time coming and for the life of me, I just don’t understand what the heck has taken me so long to get my act together. But, I’m here now with my MŌDERE Skincare Regimen update.
MŌDERE Skincare Regimen Update
If you read the first post then you know I had been dealing with some skin issues. I can’t pinpoint exactly when it happened (close to a year ago now), but over that time, my skin has morphed into something I don’t recognize anymore. I’m not sure if it’s the tempo of my travel schedule, the cold then hot temperatures my body has been experiencing or just me getting older, but I went from having a mixed (oily and dry) overall skin type to oil and acne. WHY?
A makeup mishap set me back a little bit, but getting a HydraFacial later that fall gave me hope again. Then, I went home for Christmas and my mom gifted me some MŌDERE, because I’m pretty sure she was sick of listening to me complain about my face.
The specific regimen I was using was the MŌDERE I/D Anti-Aging System and the MŌDERE Exfoliating Cleanser. To be honest, I absolutely LOVED it for the first two months. My skin was clearing up, I had fewer cystic acne spots and it did look slightly “brighter”. But then things went downhill pretty quickly and I can’t understand why, except for that, this just wasn’t the system for me.
The majority of my face remained clear, except for one spot on my left cheek that became so spotted and lumpy with cystic acne. When it initial began, I chalked it up to hormones or getting my period and figured it would clear up in a couple weeks. Except it really only got worse…and worse. I tried not picking at it, not touching my face, only sticking to the regimen and finally I just had to fold. If I’m going to be spending the amount of money that this regimen is (around $120/month), then I need for it to work all of the time.
The detail that sort of sealed the deal for me in knowing that this was the right choice for my skin, was that as soon as I stopped using the MŌDERE regimen, that inflamed area of acne disappeared. Kind of crazy to me and a little too coincidental. Here is a snap I took a week after I stopped using the regimen and you can see it’s starting to clear up, the lumpy acne is going down and the redness is fading.
The moral of the story? MŌDERE did not work for me, but I’m not saying it’s all bad. I am a firm believer that what works/doesn’t work for me may very well work for you. So let’s chat skincare — what are you using right now? What have you used in the past and loved?
