TGIF! I hope you all had a wonderful week. It’s been a hectic week for us with events nearly every single night and a weekend that is filled with both of us working. No complaints about this busy season, but it makes me appreciate our slower seasons of life 🙂 Anyway, let’s dive into this week’s edition of 5 Things I Love Friday…it’s filled with everything I’m loving right now!
5 Things I Love Friday
Lei Day – Raise your hand if you like a mid-week holiday! Dane and I both hit up the Lei Day festival in Honolulu this past Wednesday to celebrate Lei Day here in Hawaii, which is always marked on May 1st. It’s a huge celebration that is filled with live music, hula performances and, of course, tons of homemade lei. The scent of plumeria filled the air and it was nice to hang out for a day in the middle of the work week. We got to see so many beautiful flowers, the Lei Day Princess + Queen and even snapped a few photos before we left our leis on the Duke statue.
Jetstar Spread – I almost cried tears of joy this week when I found my latest magazine spread in Jetstar’s in-flight magazine in my mailbox. It covers the best happy hours in Honolulu and I am so in love with how to piece turned out!
New Waikiki Hotel – On Monday night, Dane and I headed into Honolulu to help The Beachcomber celebrate their launch in Waikiki. They’ve done a ton of beautiful upgrades to the hotel and it was a fun night filled with drinks, snacks and taking a peek at some of what guests of the hotel can enjoy…like a beautiful rooftop pool!
Costco Margarita Mix – Cinco de Mayo is on the horizon and if you’re not drinking Costco’s pre-mixed margarita beverage, you are seriously missing out! We discovered it when we first moved to Hawaii and it’s been a staple in our refrigerator ever since. It’s not too sugary and it’s especially good with a little extra added lime or a shot of jalapeño tequila!
Belly Baskets – I’ve gotten quite a few inquires lately on all the baskets I use to hold my plants. I hate to admit it, but most of them have come from various trips we’ve taken in various corners of the world. To be fair, though, I am absolutely smitten with two of the belly-style baskets I picked up locally. They’re quite trendy now, but I’ve liked a few of my favorites below. They’re great for all sorts of household things — plants, hair tools, toilet paper, dog toys…the possibilities are endless and they’re cute to boot!
That’s all I’ve got for you today, but I’d love to know — are you a margarita drinker? How do you display your plants? Have a great weekend, all!
