5 Best Summer Hats

Caps! Caps! Caps for sale! Did anyone else read that book as a kid? It’s one of Dane and my favorites. Anyway, it’s probably not a secret that wearing a hat in the summer is a great way to protect your face from the sun. And if it’s a wide brim hat, the more skin you can protect! I wore a baseball hat for years, but I always felt like I struggled to find other types of hats that fit my head well. When we moved to Hawaii, the land of endless summer, I knew I needed to invest in some quality summer hats! Today I’m sharing the hats I own, love and wear here in Hawaii to protect my face. It helps that they’re all pretty cute and I can vouch that they are worth the spend. So, if you’ve been in the market for summer hats for women, today’s post is for you!

Tassel Hat – This is the newest hat in my collection and it’s from a company called Tenth Street Hats. They’re an online boutique, but they have such a great collection of women’s summer hats. My tassel hat is the largest hat I own and it shades almost my entire upper half from the sun – WIN! I love that it has such a wide brim, but the tassels on the top are my true love language. It reminds me a lot of the popular Bondi surfer hats you see a lot on Instagram. 

Classic Fedora – You can’t go wrong with a fedora and one that packs well? SIGN ME UP! With the amount of traveling Dane and I do, it was important to me to have a hat that packed easily AND served up a cute look. This brand is great for that. I’ll be honest — I need to replace mine, because the last time it traveled with me, it never came home. EEK! Sometimes travel fails happen and unfortunately this one fell victim. I picked up a small woven hat in Morocco as a place holder and while it’s great, it doesn’t pack well, but it sure does look cute!

Straw Hat With Black Band – This was the first hat investment I made and I’m so glad I did. Not only is the quality great, but it fits well (comes in multiple sizes, too) and goes with pretty much everything. I wear a M/L for reference 🙂

Palm Woven Visor – I picked this up for the summer and I’m so glad I did, because not only do I love it, but my mom loves it, too. It’s a great casual look and for those of us with long hair, it’s the perfect option to maintain that big “bun on top of your head” look 😉 It’s super affordable, too!

Baseball Hat – My tried and true lover — you can’t go wrong with a baseball hat and I’ve been known to wear them with all sorts of outfits, not just when I’m in the sun.
