Mai Tai Catamaran In Honolulu

Hawaii, Oahu, Travel · June 12, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Looking for an affordable Waikiki catamaran charter? Look no further than the MaiTai Catamaran in Honolulu!

While my parents were visiting, we did one of my favorite Waikiki activities – the Mai Tai catamaran cruise in Honolulu. It’s such a great, affordable catamaran cruise on Oahu that leaves from the Sheraton in Waikiki, takes you around Honolulu, plays classic island tunes and is a great way to see the Honolulu skyline from the water. The best way to buy tickets is Groupon, because they are always running a deal, and then it’s really easy to make the reservation once you have your Groupon code.

The sail is 90 minutes and you can choose a couple different sail times throughout the day. We’ve done 1 and 3 and both were great weather and not too rough. While on the catamaran, guests can buy drinks that are around $8. Don’t worry about getting seasick, the Mai Tai catamaran is completely smooth!

If you’re looking for an enjoyable Honolulu activity, this is it! The crew is friendly and you can even buy a souvenir photo after your cruise, which has the perfect view of Diamond Head in the background. We didn’t purchase ours, but only because one of us was making a weird face — otherwise, it’s a great shot!

I will say that on the sail we did with my parents there was a really drunk woman who was super obnoxious, because it was clear she had been drinking all day. The crew silenced her a few times, but that was a singular incident and most times, it’s a family friendly activity. Obviously, we are big fans of the Mai Tai Catamaran + would recommend it for both residents and tourists!
