One of the very best treats of visiting the mainland is going to Trader Joe’s. It’s such a novelty, because I follow so many people who pick up all the best Trader Joe’s treats and I’m stuck in Hawaii with no access to Trader Joe’s regularly. Thankfully, I have parents and friends who keep me stocked on all the good stuff that is coming off Trader Joe’s shelves, but it’s always such a special treat to go to the store myself. In any case, I went to the Colombia, Maryland store and stocked up in a major way on fall specialty foods. Today I’m sharing my Trader Joe’s fall haul…!
Trader Joe’s Fall Haul
TJ’s does fall in a major way with pumpkin goodies, so that was my focus, but I picked up a few other go-tos, as well as some new items to try.
First things first – some care package items for my friend who is deployed. Candy Corn Popcorn is UNREAL (I enjoyed it last season), Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage (works great as a coffee creamer), Scandinavian Swimmers (who doesn’t love a fruit snack?), and a seasonal treat — Caramel Apple Granola. My mom grabbed some Cookie Butter and Animal Crackers to include, too 🙂
Trader Joe’s Fall Foods
Now on to what I got for me. First, a few of my “oldie but goodie” favorites — Cookie Butter cookies, Pale Ale Mustard (amazing for dipping honey pretzels), Honey Pretzels, Plantain Chips (my friend Casey got me hooked on the Cajun ones), Goddess Dressing (so savory and 0 sugar!), Salmon and Sweet Potato treats for the dogs (no additives!) and Trader Joe’s candles. The scent is pumpkin vanilla and smells divine!
Trader Joe’s Fall Items
Some new-to-me, but not seasonal items I picked up include:
Feta Dressing – I thought this sounded so good and there’s only 1g of sugar in it (salad dressing is a secret culprit for sugar!), so I always check this. I think this dressing will be really good in Buddha bowls.
Cowboy Caviar Salsa – My mom had this at a football tailgate many years ago and I’ve been wanting to buy it ever since. We do make our own cowboy caviar recipe, but this is slightly different and I’m excited to dig in!
Organic Tahini – I use tahini pretty regularly at home to make homemade hummus, so the cheap price for this was a no brainer. It’s over $8 in Hawaii…yikes!
Chili Onion Crunch – Honestly, I have no idea what I’m going to do with this, except for use it on a charcuterie board this winter. It’s made with olive oil, dried onions and garlic, crushed chili peppers, and dried red bell peppers. I think it will be really good tossed into pasta, too!
Coconut Coffee Cold Brew Concentrate – This was another recommendation from my mom (and her neighbor who asked us to pick up 3). I’m eager to test it out, especially on hot Hawaiian days!
Extra Sour Scandinavian Swimmers – First let me say – these are not extra sour. They’re delicious, but Sour Patch Kids are way more sour. That said, I would buy them again because I really enjoy the flavor!
Cards – Have you checked out the card selection lately? They are SO CUTE and only 99 cents! Such a deal, so I picked up a handful of cute ones to have at-the-ready.
Okay now let’s discuss the Trader Joe’s pumpkin treats! Because let me be very honest…I am SO PUMPED about all of these.
Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Products
I talked about the candles earlier, but that was a nice seasonal treat. Their candles smell really good if you’ve never picked one up before. 10/10 recommend!
Gluten Free Pumpkin Pancake Mix – What is better than pumpkin pancakes? I can’t wait to make these and for $1.99, I got two boxes.
Fall Harvest Salsa – An “autumnal melange” — is that good marketing or what? I’m excited to try this one some pumpkin spice won tons!
Pumpkin Dog Treats – How could I resist a seasonal treat for the pups? The cookies themselves are pretty good as far as dog treats are concerned, so I know Judy and Bill will be extra appreciative 😉
Gluten Free Pumpkin Bagels – YUM YUM YUM! I cannot wait to enjoy these for breakfast, but I was brainstorming a bit and I think they would make such a good bread pudding type of treat, too! If you live near a TJ’s, please test this out for me.
Autumnal Harvest Creamy Pasta Sauce – It’s made with pumpkin and butternut squash, which is pretty much fall’s perfect duo, am I right? I can’t wait to serve this over both pasta AND roasted vegetables.
Pumpkin Spice Granola Bark – I have dreams of dunking this into my coffee as a little fall treat. What do you think?
To be honest, I really wanted the Pumpkin Bisque, but the sugar in that is kind of insane. So, it stayed on the shelf. Thankfully Dane has a ton of extra room in his suitcase. I think we’re going to need it, LOL!
I’ve shared my Trader Joe’s Favorites and my Trader Joe’s Haul From Utah before, so if you love TJ’s (like most people do!), be sure to check those posts out, too!
