TGIF! Swooping in here today after a whirlwind week and gearing up for a surprise trip this week (say what?! Be sure you’re following along on Instagram). In any case, today’s edition of 5 Things I Love Friday is a healthy dose of good reads around the web, 2 skincare products I love, a fun DIY I might tackle this winter if I can get my act together and more. Let’s dive in…
5 Things I Love Friday
It seems like Elton John’s new memoir is full of good celeb stories. Here’s a sampling of 13 good ones featured by Vulture this week.
It’s October so breast cancer awareness is pretty top of mind for all of us. When I stumbled across this tata tee from Dolkii Hawaii, I had a good laugh…but in the best way. What’s not to love about raising awareness in a real way? Proceeds from the sale of this tee benefit The Women’s Fund of Hawai’i, a non profit organization whose mission is to support innovative programs that empower women and girls statewide. The Fund provides information and education on women’s and girls’ philanthropy, shines a light on women’s and girls’ issues, and increases the visibility of grantees such as Susan G. Komen and Healthy Mothers Health Babies.
If you’ve followed my skincare journey for any length of time, you know that I used a Dermalogica regimen for years. Then last year, I felt like Dermalogica wasn’t a good fit for me anymore. I tried MODERE and Acure, but neither were really holding up in the long game (see: they worked great for about 6 weeks and then things went south), so I did what anyone would do and went to a professional. As it turns out, I’m back to Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel and still using the Acure Brightening Scrub. A few other details “behind the curtain” of my skincare routine are still being tweaked, but I’m hopeful this does the trick!
This Be There In Five: Gimme Mor(mon) does not disappoint in terms of dissecting the Skalla sisters bachelorette party and Kate nails the questions we’ve all got.
There is nothing I don’t love about these DIY Rope Ottomans.
My friend is throwing a Toy Story party for her son and asked me if I wanted to come over and craft. Then she shared what we were making (which I had assumed was, I don’t know, posters?). Needless to say, I learned who Forky is.
Why can’t I get this whimsical dog wallpaper off my mind? If I ever own a home again, I’m doing this in my laundry room…
Happy weekend, everyone!
