TGIF! Swooping in here today after a whirlwind week and gearing up for the long weekend has got me like WOOOOO BABY! I skipped last week’s edition of 5 Things I Love Friday, so consider this a double dose, because I’ve got a couple fabulous items, plus some can’t miss reading material. Let’s dive in…
5 Things I Love Friday
October was a big month for me in the world of military publications. I had THREE print spreads, which is just flat out amazing in my day-to-day, particularly as the world of media goes fully digital. One of them was Legacy Magazine, a publication that is a total work of art from top to bottom. It’s one of those magazines you just feel good reading. I’m thrilled to share that with my code, you can receive 10% OFF volumes and an additional 10% OFF subscriptions (that’s 20% off the original subscription price!). New subscribers also receive pre-order swag, which is a set of an 8×10 art printable AND a set of Creativity Cards. Plus, it’s a good opportunity to read my work. I’ve had spreads in Volume II, IV + V!
J.Crew’s mega Columbus Day sale gives you an excuse to buy the Point Sur pants I rave about consistently throughout the year!
Of course you have likely seen Ellen’s new friendship with George Bush after the pair were seen side-by-side at the Cowboys game last week. I appreciate The Vox’s take on the death of uncritical niceness. (Trigger warning: If you were delighted by this friendship, you may not appreciate this article.)
Word on the street was that this affordable $7 mask was a dupe for the Drunk Elephant version. Turns out, the internet was right. This is probably the best money I’ve spent on a beauty product in a long time. Bonus: My mom used mine while I was at home and she agrees.
My friend Kayla slid into her (now) bosses DMs to land a job — then she wrote all about it for The Everygirl in her first published piece. I’m beyond proud of her!
Is anyone else following the real life Orphan story? I’m equal parts horrified and engrossed.
J. McLaughlin just touched down in the islands with their first Hawaii store and I’m itching to get over to Maui to check them out! In the meantime, I’ve been stalking their site and spotted these leopard readers. As I’ve learned, I can’t make readers into glasses, but wowza — they are adorable!
Fellow Penn Staters — this one’s for you! Thrifting isn’t a new trend, but the way it’s taking over State College is capturing my heart. My friend Katie sent me this article this week and of course, I got all heart-eyed.
Happy weekend, everyone!
