It’s been a long while since I dropped in here with a Life Lately post, so that’s exactly what I’m doing today. Come to think of it – I think this is my first LIFE LATELY of 2020 – WHOA! So, we have a lot of ground to cover…let’s get to it! As always, these snippets of our life have all been captured with my trusty iPhone 🙂
Life Lately
A really good friend of mine welcomed her husband home from a deployment and I could not resist treating them to a special order of Painted Sugar Cookies. They were very well received and I’m so glad their family is reunited!
I snapped this photo quickly in the car on the way to get our new military IDs and I swear – Dane was driving, not sleeping! I think the timing of the photo just didn’t work in his favor, but I thought it was pretty funny.
We have had tire issues galore for the past month. Thankfully, we get our tires replaced and fixed at our local Costco (it’s cheap!) and their warranty/service is pretty great. Well, on our way to the beach last weekend, our tire pressure alert came on. WTF! So, we went to put some air in it thinking all the pot holes in Hawaii had done a number on one of the tires. Turns out, our air pressure went from 33 to 10 thanks to a gigantic nail. We hightailed it to Costco and instead of the beach, we enjoyed ice cream in the parking lot while it got fixed. #silverlining
My MIL gifted me another set of my favorite pajamas! Trust me when I tell you that they are SO SOFT and a solid investment. They wash wonderfully, which is a nice added bonus!
My in laws were in town for a conference last week and it was nice having more company in town to visit and share our island with. We did loads of all the touristy favorites, as well as some of Dane and my’s secret spots. It was nice to relax and spend time together. My BIL and his girlfriend joined us, too!
Our neighbor’s son is a senior in high school this year and he invited us to his Senior Night soccer game a couple weeks back. It’s fun to shake up our weeknight routine, especially for something this special. He got to play and the end included lots of leis for all his fellow seniors. It was a great night and Dane and I both enjoyed watching some high school soccer. Dane even admitted he really missed the game and wanted to coach — stay tuned on that one 😉
The dogs RARELY lay in bed together, so the other day when I came into my office and they were sprawled on Judy’s bed, I knew I wanted to capture a photo. The lighting was terrible, but I couldn’t resist. I love them so!
My Birthday Celebrations
It was a very low key birthday for me at our house and it was perfect. The day before, my friend Max and I went out for tacos and cocktails to a cute little rooftop bar near our house. The weather was terrible on Oahu on my actual birthday (1/12), so we just hung out, but Dane got me this delicious cake and friends of ours popped by for charcuterie and cocktails. All in all – a wonderful day!
And – that’s a wrap! What have you been up to lately?
