You might remember back in November I did a Kait’s Favorite Things Gift Guide. It included a ton of the items that I use and love, but it was definitely geared toward gift giving season. I thought it might be fun to recap all the best things I purchased in 2019 that made my life easier, my closet cuter or improved my beauty routine. Today I’m sharing my best purchases of 2019…!
My Best Purchases Of 2019
Window Fly Traps – This is a weird one, but if you follow me on Instagram and followed our window seal saga, you know that I was LOSING MY MIND. This was hands down my best overall purchase of 2019 and I’ve passed it on to so many people who found it helpful. Just call it the modern day fly tape and thank me later. At the peak of our issue, I was trapping 40+ flies a day on these sticky traps and they gravitate toward them. It both amazes and grosses me out, but they’re cheap and they work.
Face Razors – Are you shaving your face? I know what you’re thinking — Kait, I’m not shaving my face! But hear me out — your skincare products go on smoother and actually are able to get into your pores, your skin is smoother and whether you want to admit it or not — there is a crap ton of hair growing on your face. Also, no, your hair does not grow in dark or course after shaving.
Nightgown Dress – This dress drove me to post a mirror selfie on Instagram. It’s THAT good. It’s comfortable, comes in a bunch of colors and fits pretty true to size (if you have boobs, I have heard this is a problem). Every time I wear mine I get a compliment!

Bombas – I had been gifted a pair of Bombas from my mom, but I went ALL IN on the brand in 2019. It’s safe to say they’ve become my favorite socks AND they’re a B-Corp. I love them so much I wrote an entire blog post about why Bombas are worth every penny!
Glass Bottles – I purchased these bottles after seeing them recommended around the internet for making your own cleaning solution. I have slowly begun incorporating environmentally friendly options into our home and these glass bottles work great for the DIY cleaner I use with doTerra OnGuard Cleaner Concentrate. They both work great and I love the scent of the OnGuard.
Longline Bra – This might be my second favorite purchase of the year (right after the fly traps), because I’ve certainly gotten the most wear out of it. I have it in black, but I was it 2-3 times per week so that I can re-wear it. Not only is it soft, supportive and high neck (see also: flattering), but it’s stink proof AND a B-Corp.
Athleta Revive Pants – I jokingly refer to these as my MC Hammer pants, because at first glance (and especially on a hanger), I would never pick them out for myself. My mom is the one who actually shared them with me and they looked so dang cute on her, I knew I wanted to try them on. Turns out, they’ve become my go-to pants for errands and travel. They’re SO light and dry really fast. I’ve also dressed them up for dinners out with a cute pair of sandals.
Here’s a photo of my mom and I wearing both the Conscious Crop + Revive Pants:

The Ordinary Drunk Elephant Dupe – I didn’t know what to make of affordable skincare, but enough people in my life were using this serum to convince me that it was worth splurging the big amount of $7 to give it a try. 5 months later and I’m still using it twice a week and my skin always feels like butter after!
Olukai Sneaker Booties – Did you follow my trip to London? If you did then you probably remember me going ON AND ON about these shoes that I dubbed snooties, or sneaker booties. They saved my feet when I needed sensible shoes. They arrived HOURS before I was supposed to leave, so with 0 chance to break them in, I took the ultimate travel gamble and packed them anyway. Turns out – they’re one of the best shoes I’ve ever put on my feet.
What did you purchase in 2019 that is helping to save your sanity at home? That turned out to be an item you reach for every single time in your closet? A beauty product you now swear by?
